What can I say? It's a new Stant thermostat. I installed it on my 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi when changing out the water pump. It is well made and fit perfectly in the water pump cut out. Just bolt on the thermostat housing, no gasket is required (I bought one but didn't need it. There's no additional gasket from the factory either). It seals with rubber around the thermostat. It's set for 203 degrees like the OEM. After installing it, my temp. gauge needle went to the same position as it did with the old one. I don't know why and there aren't any instructions but I have read that the little brass tit on the thermostat is supposed to be installed in the up position (12 o'clock or towards the hood. Maybe it's so any air bubbles can get out of the system. ... show more

Does what it's supposed to do. My 2006 Magnum R/T runs at the normal 203 degrees. This is one of those products that works or doesn't. And I've have zero problems with install and usage.

I let this sit in my toolbox for a few months. My 2005 Ram Hemi was running too cool, so I knew something was up w/ my thermostat. Turns out it was opening too early at around 187F. I know this because after installing this Stant thermostat, my truck overheated. I ran to my local Napa for another thermostat. Before installing, I dropped all three thermostats into a pot of water on the stove. The old one opened at 187F (was marked 203F), the new Napa thermostat opened at 203F, and this Stant thermostat opened around 205F and much less that the other two. It probably only opened 0.005" - 0.010". Really not happy to have ran my 20 year old Hemi w/ 195k so hot inadvertently. I haven't tested a thermostat in a pot of water since my youthful VW days. If I could get my money back, that would be appreciated, but I'm outside of the Amazon return window. ... show more
