  • Extending rod (used to raise table)
Size: 60 Inches Color: Black Frame/Matte Black Top
Make sure you do NOT force the rod into the motor that lifts the table. The rod may not fit between the motor and the opposite end of the table at its lowest/minimum height at first, however, don't be discouraged. Insert the rod into the motor WITHOUT extending the rod and raise the table. Next, lower the table to its base point and extend the rod into the opposite end and you should be fine. That's what worked for me and who knows, the rod may just fit extended on your first try. Calling customer service provided me the same instruction and it worked perfectly. No other issues or concerns with putting this together. FYI...It may also help if you have a second person assisting. ... show more

  • Absolutely love my new desk!!
Size: 60 Inches Color: Black Frame/Matte Black Top
I love this desk! But first! Here's my setup notes, you can thank me later: -- get a **4mm hex socket** and socket wrench with a small extension. There's about 30 of those 4mm hex bolts in this thing, and you do not want to use the little wrench they give you. -- **leave the 8 bolts from steps 1 and 2 loosey-goosey**, then later if the bolts for the bottom of the desktop don't line up, adjust those first 8 again. Do not try to force the desk to align by driving the screws in at an angle (lol) Don't be like Ben and cross-thread a bolt into the bottom of the desktop pieces. You'll rip the metal housing out that you're screwing into. Then you have to glue it and wait hours for it to setup.. .. don't forget to tighten those 8 bolts after the desk-tops are both attached. --I also used a rubber mallet to pound the "feet" in. Don't see how anyone could drive those in by hand. onto the fun stuff: I use the lower tier as a giant keyboard tray, and the idea is to have monitor arms mounted to the back to add a 3rd tier, which moves the monitors away from my face a little (only have 1 arm up in the picture). Otherwise I think the screens are too close because the desk is not deep enough. This was pretty obvious from the picture, so no surprise there; I ordered the 2 monitor arms at the same time. As others mentioned the desktop material looks really durable. I'll be putting it to the test for sure - the sweat from my palms seemed have eroded my old desktop where I rested my hands at the keyboard. It's like my very own super power to take a great desk and trash it. Let's see if this surface is up to the challenge! Shipping was super fast. I mean really super fast, but I'm 100% sure the UPS man hates me now. It's 2 boxes, 49lbs total. He used a dolly to get it up to my door and let it all down with a dramatic SLAM. I was a little worried for my new desk, but I still thanked him profusely! Turns out the desk was in no real danger, the packaging is expertly done, and I now have enough scrap styrofoam and cardboard to open my own shipping supply store. The electric Sit/Stand motor and drive on this desk is genius. I started out skeptical as I saw the narrow drive shaft in the package, but it's really clever and simple. That part of the setup took like 2 seconds to install (hah). So easy and fast I re-read the instructions to make sure I didn't miss something. Electric motor is quiet-ish. It's not going to drown out conversation or music playing or anything like that, but it is definitely audible. The up/down action is oh-so-silky-smooth. No worries about stuff vibrating or knocking over, etc. At 6'1, sitting position for me is at the lowest setting, and my chair is all the way up. This is just about perfect, but would be an issue if you were shorter or your chair doesn't go up as much. I feel like the desk could go a few inches lower, but if you attached your own KB tray below the bottom tier, it would be fine. As far as standing, I have plenty of room to spare there, I never take it up as high as it will go. That's it, thanks for reading. hope you like this desk as much as I do! ... show more

  • Great choice for standing desk - 60"
Size: 60 Inches Color: Black Frame/Matte Black Top
I have had the desk for a month so far, and absolutely love it. I had spine surgery some years ago, and standing eases the strain tremendously. Now that I work form home, I was looking for a sturdy, reliable and good quality desk. This desk fits that bill. Assembly: The desk came in 3 packages, and was well protected. One box had some damage on the corners, but the desk itself was unharmed. Parts were clearly marked. Assembly took about 90 minutes. I recommend referencing the online videos; the printed instructions can be a bit ambiguous as to the placement of the metal frame supporting the desk. The cross bar is not centered, but is placed toward the rear of the desk. That took me a while to confirm. Pros: The desk has a nice, clean look. Materials are of good quality. The motor is robust, moving the desk quickly and rather quietly. Stable: Doing a great deal of video conferencing (several hours per day), I was concerned that the desk might shake when in the standing position. Fortunately, the desk is quite stable -- no wobble at all, unless you hit the desk laterally. The desk moves easily on the casters (tile floor), and all 4 wheels can lock. The controller is intuitive, with 4 memory positions The shelf provides a great height for the monitors, and frees up significant space on the main level Cons: None so far ... show more

  • Excellent product + rock solid customer support
Size: 60 Inches Color: Black Frame/Matte Black Top
Have been very happy with the desk from the get go. Assembling was reasonably easy, the quality of workmanship is excellent. The look and feel of the whole bunch of accessories that I purchased thereafter has been great, too. Given all that, the episode which really pushed me into this review was the extraordinary reaction of the StandUp Desk store (not the party from which I actually purchased the product, mind you !!!). Due to probably power glitch, the electronics of the controller (the plastic console carrying the control buttons) stopped working. After a brief talk (email + phone call) with the customer service, they've sent me the replacement part free, and it all started working like a charm. It is a great feeling knowing that in this era of 'get-money-and-run' there is still a company which takes good care about the customers. ... show more

  • Love it
Size: 60 Inches Color: Black Frame/Matte Black Top
Setup was not the easiest thing, until I realized I was trying to do something out of order. So I give myself 1 star for following instructions. But for the desk itself: Works as advertised. We'll see how things are going a few months from now, but for the past few months this thing has been great. To be fair I don't adjust the height a whole bunch, so other reviewers may want to comment if they are moving it up and down 24/7. But about once to twice per week I will adjust the height, and it's fine. I have almost 140 pounds on this thing. I purchased the black on black one. ... show more

  • Great desk
Size: 60 Inches Color: Black Frame/Matte Black Top
Very easy to assemble had it up and ready to go in 30 min or so. Fantastic quality. maybe in 5 years or so i might swap out the wood part for actual wood, not because the desk it bads, I just like a lighter color wood. Be mindful of the boxes, they are not light and I helped my poor amazon driver get them into the house. ... show more
