This carafe looks nice, is easy to clean, yet after following the instructions, the coffee still needs to be microwaved after 3 hours. I will try to work within that window of time. I will use this for awhile, and then look for something else.

I have always wanted a thermal carafe and I was surprised how well it kept my coffee hot. I did what they suggested and let hot water set for a few minutes, dumped it and put hot coffee in. Over 6 hours later I was surprised it was still very warm. Drinkable warm! Well worth the investment and am only sorry I didn't buy it sooner. ... show more

Lovely design; crap efficiency. Heated it up with hot water to start, emptied, added hot coffee. 15 minutes later, coffee was lukewarm. I don't think this manufacturer knows WTH a "thermos" is supposed to do. I was going to donate this, but why pass along my problem to someone else? It's going into the landfill. ... show more

After reading reviews of this and similar products, I was skeptical if it would work as advertised. After initial cleaning, I filled it with hot water, equivalent to that of hot coffee. Without preheating the carafe, I put the lid on and let it sit. I ended up forgetting about it 😀. 10 hours later I checked it and it was still quite hot. Had it been coffee it would have been perfectly acceptable. Please note that it was near full the entire time, which would help retain heat. Storing coffee for 10 hours is much longer than I'd ever expect. Just the thought makes me want to dump it and make a fresh pot. Point is, it DID actually work!     • Early Review (After Two Uses) but Happy...and Will Update

Granted, I've only used this thermos twice, but and Note: Cleaning before use is recommended. I found a little sliver of purple (the exterior?) inside the thermos. First time I used this thermos, I didn't add boiling water to "prep" it as I never had to do that with my previous (obviously, a different brand) thermos. Result? Over less than a hour later, the last 2 cups were lukewarm. Second time? I Did add boiling water to "prep" and More than an hour later, the coffee was still hot...not piping not...but hot. I'll update my review after more use. As a footnote: Previous thermos had instructions about proper cleaning with no mention of either soapy water or dishwashers. Found these "fizzy" type tablets on Amazon that are recommended for both my coffee and water thermos bottles. Hoping they will not only help with cleaning my new purchases, but also my previous. ... show more

I drink several cups of tea every day. Having to brew each time is annoying. I make one large batch and it lasts for the day using this carafe. I bring 8 cups of water to boil. I pre-heat the carafe by pouring 4 cups into the carafe (put the top on) while the remaining 4 cups is poured into a large measuring cup in which the tea (8 teabags) steeps to make a concentrate. After steeping for 5 minutes, I pour the concentrate into the carafe too resulting in a rich, balanced tea flavor. At this time, I took the temperature. It was 175°F. I took the temperature again 12 hours later and it was 120°F. I'm good with that. It lasts all day. The carafe looks good and a good price too. I am very happy with it and would recommend it. ... show more
