I drink several cups of tea every day. Having to brew each time is annoying. I make one large batch and it lasts for the day using this carafe. I bring 8 cups of water to boil. I pre-heat the carafe by pouring 4 cups into the carafe (put the top on) while the remaining 4 cups is poured into a large measuring cup in which the tea (8 teabags) steeps to make a concentrate. After steeping for 5 minutes, I pour the concentrate into the carafe too resulting in a rich, balanced tea flavor. At this time, I took the temperature. It was 175°F. I took the temperature again 12 hours later and it was 120°F. I'm good with that. It lasts all day. The carafe looks good and a good price too. Nice design, easy to clean. The only issue is because it is metal inside, I must fill it with hot water to allow the carafe to absorb the heat before filling it with freshly brewed coffee.

Great for the price. Don’t expect to get 80 deg coffee after 4 hours. Fill it to 80% if you want it to stay hot longer than 2 hours. It is not 100% sealed. The pressure “regulator” will let steam out for safety in the first few minutes. It’s best suited to keep hot water warm for 8 hours. I have never gotten any thermal caraffe to stay hot over 60 deg F. ... show more

Lovely design; crap efficiency. Heated it up with hot water to start, emptied, added hot coffee. 15 minutes later, coffee was lukewarm. I don't think this manufacturer knows WTH a "thermos" is supposed to do. I was going to donate this, but why pass along my problem to someone else? It's going into the landfill. ... show more

After reading reviews of this and similar products, I was skeptical if it would work as advertised. After initial cleaning, I filled it with hot water, equivalent to that of hot coffee. Without preheating the carafe, I put the lid on and let it sit. I ended up forgetting about it 😀. 10 hours later I checked it and it was still quite hot. Had it been coffee it would have been perfectly acceptable. Please note that it was near full the entire time, which would help retain heat. Storing coffee for 10 hours is much longer than I'd ever expect. Just the thought makes me want to dump it and make a fresh pot. Point is, it DID actually work! I have always wanted a thermal carafe and I was surprised how well it kept my coffee hot. I did what they suggested and let hot water set for a few minutes, dumped it and put hot coffee in. Over 6 hours later I was surprised it was still very warm. Drinkable warm! Well worth the investment and am only sorry I didn't buy it sooner. ... show more
