  • Very helpful on snow and ice, run small so upsize
Color: Black Size: X-Large
I really like these. Easy to put on, even on the trail. They are very stable and don’t slip on ice or snow. They’re also comfortable and work well on rock and frozen dirt which is important if you’re hiking on a trail with a mixture of hard dirt & rock (lower elevation) and snow & ice (higher elevation). They do run small - I wear men’s size 11 boots and the XL is just right and fits tightly - L would’ve been too small. ... show more

  • Traction great, run small
Color: Black Size: Large
Review for: Stabilicers 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,747 Reviews STABILicers Walk Stabilicers Ice Traction Cleat for Snow and Ice - Lite Duty Serious Traction cleats for Boots and Shoe Ice Cleats UPDATE: I re-ordered a size x-large, i dont know if it's becsuse of the size or just an updated version but there are several improvements compared to the size large I originally had. On each side of the cleat packs there are now rubber lugs which make them more stable, the rear straps are now connected together and have a flap to pull on, the toe is more full and goes further on the boot, the rear cleat pack is further back and centered on the heel. This moved from 2stars to 5 stars based on what I expected for the price. You may do better with more expensive models for running etc. Summary: traction is excellent! Fit is (was)bad for me but may be different depending on your size of shoe. Read on for more. First the good: these stabilicers will not slip on the ice, traction is excellent! I can full out sprint on the ice no problem. Now the bad: the fit is pretty bad for my situation. I am size 12 and i ordered size large which is supposed to fit up to size 13. I understand that you want a tight fit so it will not come off, but the rear set of spikes is to far forward, it works well enough on my tennis shoes but you can feel that the rear cleats should be further back. On my work boots its much worse since the set of spikes are so far forward, they are half on and half off of the heel of the boot and rock forward when I step on it. This makes these useless for my boots...also the front and rear spiki assembly should be wider, this would make them more comfortable and more stable. My dilemma is, should I trade them for a larger size? I don't know if the x-large will place the heel further back or just have longer rubber straps? Also will they fit a size 12 tight enough? If I trade them out, I will update this review. ... show more

  • No More Slipping on Ice. Fantastic.
Color: Black Size: X-Large
I have been using these for about 2 months now and they are fantastic. I work for a truck rental company in Wisconsin that requires me to walk outside for long periods of time in a lot that is almost entirely covered with ice and snow. I need the ability to move quickly and safely regardless of the conditions. I tried several other pairs of "ice cleats" that you attach to your boots and they either did not fit or broke after days of use. I purchased these Stabilicers as a last ditch effort to prevent myself from slipping and falling when I needed to move quickly over very icy blacktop and concrete. They work fantastically. I purchased the Extra Large version as I wear size 15.5 Caterpillar steel toe work boots and I needed them to fit over the large sole. They stretch and fit just fine over these very large boots. I am not sure what other people are complaining about when they say they don't fit. Those people just plain bought the wrong size. These stretch a lot and are not affected by the cold so you can leave them in your vehicle and they are still pliable enough to put on quickly when they are cold. I have not had any issues with tears or any other defects at all. When you wear these they hold onto the sole of your boot NOT THE ENTIRE BOTTOM HALF OF YOUR BOOT. As long as the side supports are wrapped over the edge of your shoe soles they will stay on securely. I could see this being a problem if you run in them but if you plan to run in the winter RUN INDOORS because that's what treadmills were invented for and its your own fault if you fall running on snow and ice. Bottom line: They fit large boots, stay on securely, keep you from slipping on ice and snow almost entirely, and are durable. Buy them. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Work well with caveats
Color: Black Size: X-Large
These are very undersized. I wear a 9.5 mens and I need an XL. I ordered XL and were shipped L but I got them on my shoe. The L and XL are only marginally different in size as shown in another reviewers photos. When putting these on the shoe I would suggest doing so with the shoe in hand not on your foot. Put the toe on first then grab just in front of the heel cleats and pull to the rear and pull tab at rear over the heel completing the task. I do not think these would stand up to repeated installation, the rubber feels like it would fail so I keep these on a pair of shoes for slippery conditions. That said - These work very well! I recently had surgery and wanted something to assure me of better traction in an Upstate NY winter. These fit the bill very well, I feel very confident on ice ( I have used them on ice and they work really well). Update: 2 years of use and they are still running strong. I would like to restate that I leave these installed on a pair of shoes so they are not on and off all the time. They show very little wear and still grip great. This winter we have had many more ice conditions than average and these have saved my bacon more than once I am sure. I have to say that I read a couple of low star reviews and have to think that they are either bogus or for the wrong product. These absolutely grip on ice, they do not slip! The real negatives are: Much smaller than their chart implies, tough to don and doff, and if used on hard smooth surfaces like polished concrete, ceramic tile, metal they slip a lot - if you think about this it makes sence. You can tell that I'm a big fan, it's not often that a product works as well as advertised so that and Made in USA are big pluses for me. Still docking 1 star as the stated sizing is so far off. For the life of me I cant see why they just don't make add a larger size to the lineup, a no brainer to me, most of the lower ratings would disapear.... ... show more
