My 4-year-old 2-cycle Hitachi leaf blower simply refused to start last week after winter storage. I replaced the spark plug, air filter, used fresh gas, - you name it and I tried it. Thought my arm was going to fall off after repeated fruitless pulling. As a last ditch effort I decided to switch brands of 2-cycle oil. Bought the Sta-Bil 2-cycle oil twelve pack of mini-bottles. It was the most economical (per ounce) way to buy and I could use it in my 2-cycle weed whacker too. Poured a full mini-bottle of Sta-Bil oil into my one-gallon gas can, added fresh gas from my bigger 5-gallon gas can, gave the smaller can a quick shake to ensure everything was mixed, and poured this into the old Hitachi. Pumped the flex ball to push gas thru the carburetor and I walked away. After 45 minutes I returned, pumped the flex ball again to be sure things were primed, said a quick prayer, and pulled the cord. After the third pull I heard a pop, adjusted the carburetor choke, and on the next pull the engine started up. It's been starting on the second pull ever since. Did the Sta-Bil oil make the difference? Who knows... But before you toss out your 2-cycle small engine - give this oil a try. Sure glad I did. ... show more

Ok, I get worried when things work too well. I have fussy engines that in the past have had plugged carburetor using the manufacturers oil. This stuff is amazing. It cleared the main jet on a large weed wacker in minutes. I'm not sure about long-term use but I'm sold for now

I use this in all of my 2cycle and 4cycle engines for better wear and it keeps water vapor out of the oil and keeps the fuel lines clean, makes everything start easier the next time they’re used

I had forgotten to empty the gas in my Echo weed eater at the end of Summer. The gas was over 6 months old in the tank. Of course, my weed eater would not start. So I bought a bottle of Sta-Bil and added it to a fresh gallon of gas. I emptied and refilled my Echo’s gas tank. About 6 pulls later, I was back in action. It was a great feeling to see it run smoothly again. It cost me a gallon of gas and a bottle of Sta-Bil to solve all of my issues. Less than $10 and I was off and running. And a word to the wise, stay away from Ethanol, it’s poison to your gas tanks. Real 100% gas with Sta-Bil added for your two stroke engines is like liquid gold. ... show more
