    • Okay you 80's and 90's kids...
The 80's and 90's was another turning point in technical evolution. And one of the most fun things we saw was the emergence of the Digital pet! And like with a lot of the newer electronic devices that were coming out; the digital pet was a big hit. It's died out almost to non-existence in almost 25 to 35 years later! BUT It's coming back and making a SPLASH!! This is a 4 pack of digital pet key chains reminiscent of the originals with all of the upgrades that a few decades affords!! My daughter has already fallen in love with and carried off the pink one that was in the box, but there are 4 all together. A Purple A Pink A Green A Blue They are all pastel colors, and each one comes with an instruction pamphlet. Each one is individually wrapped. They come with batteries already installed and ready to go! Just pull the strip that sits between the battery and the contact that keeps it from running the battery out while it is in transit. Make sure that you, as the parent/adult, reads the instructions pamphlet and help your child learn the ins and out of the digital pet! This is a key chain so it can be attached to your keys, purse, bookbag, beltloop, etc... There is a protective film that covers the screen of each of the digital pets. There is a little blue line on the film so you know it is there. IF YOU ARE HAVING A hard time removing the film; Just get a bit of wrapping, packing, or duct tape and stick it onto the plastic film. Than pull it up! This works for so many film covered items that have a thin plastic film to keep from scratches or other damages while in shipping, or sitting on a shelf. The bodies of the digital pets are so cute!! They are shaped like Easter eggs with a mini antenna on the side! There are 4 tiny buttons on the face of the digital pet. Each digital pet comes with 168 different pets to choose from!!! After selecting the pet you want, setting the time, and giving it a name, then a small pet will appear. You will have to feed it, clean up it's digital waste, and train it! It's a lot of fun!! There are other games you can play with your digital pet already loaded as well! These make GREAT party gifts for people of all ages!! I recommend these for everyone that use to have a digital pet, or has kids that they think would enjoy a digital pet!! ... show more

You get 4 different keychain type virtual pets. They are perfect for any kid regardless of age or gender- i have 2 boys and 2 girls ranging from 6 years old to 18 years old, and all 4 of my kids LOVE these pets even my 18 year old!! My two boys are 6 and 18 years old, and i had thought FOR SURE the boys would play with theirs for a few hours and end up giving them to their sisters- but NOPE a week later my boys are still playing with these pets as much as their 9 and 11 year old sisters are! So these pets come exactly as advertised- they look exactly like what is pictured and they do exactly as described. They work right out of the box, they do run on batteries but the batteries are included and already installed. My kids love them, and are still playing with them non-stop a week later which is rare here- they usually play with stuff for a day or two before it goes onto a shelf or toy bin to be long forgotten. Normally i would give a product 5 stars if it comes as advertised, works great, is good quality and is loved and often used by my kids. There was just one hiccup in our "virtual pet" experience though, which made me drop my rating to 4 stars. These pets are pretty hard to set up and figure out, even with the extensive, detailed instruction booklet that comes with each pet!! The first thing you have to do is CHOOSE what pet you want, which sounds pretty easy right? But its not. I wish i had one in front of me, but the kids are all at school and they of course have their pets with them lol. So in the directions it says stuff like "use the A button to scroll through the pets, press the B button to choose an option, press the C button to confirm your choice" but the 4 buttons on the actual toy do not say A or B or C, they are labelled something completely different. We would try to pick our pet, hit the wrong button every time, then have to start over- over and over and over again. That first pet took us a good 30 minutes to just pick and confirm our choice because we kept hitting the wrong buttons and would have to start back at the beginning over and over. The first one we did, my 9 year old daughter was getting super frustrated and upset after it kept happening over and over. Pets finally selected, i had thought great! Its done! But oh no no no. Little icons start popping up on the screen, showing when you need to feed, clean, exercise, love, wash, play etc etc with your pet. You have to select one of the icons, confirm it, then play mini games to successfully satisfy the "need" Doing this sounds easy, but it was the same ordeal as selecting the pet- alot of frustration over hitting the wrong buttons and having to start over. So yeah the first 2 days were a little rocky, with all the kids getting frustrated from constantly hitting the wrong buttons. The detailed instructions DO tell you how to setup and use all the different functions and games and tasks, but they are hard to follow and the buttons they tell you to push do not match the buttons on the toys. After a few days though the kids have them figured out, they know how to work them and do what they need to do, and its all good. I feel like this is all worth mentioning because my 11 year old daughter had gotten so frustrated during the set up process that she tossed hers onto her desk and didnt look at it for 2 days. Then once the other kids had theres all figured out, they helped her set hers up on the 3rd or 4th day. Kids who get easily frustrated (like my daughter) might have a hard time setting up, then using the pets. They are really great little pets though- once you get through the setup and learn how to use them the right way! ... show more

A great update version of a toy all the kids had at school. You. Can choose different animals. Instructions are a little confusing but the games are easy to figure out. a great gift for a 90s kids or 8 and older. Great value for a 4 pack

Got these for my 7 and 10 year old. They brough back memories for sure. You get to choose from dozenss of pet options (dogs, deer, dinosaurs, etc) The little icons are a bit confusing at first but once you read the instructions and mess with it for awhile you get the hang of it. We still haven't quite figured out the "shop" yet as it just shows how many bucks you have earned instead of how many you need for the item. My 10 year old was super excited at first but then when she found out it "dies" if you don't take care of it for awhile and that you can't "pause" or "turn it off" she said she didn't want it anymore LOL. Great intro pet for a child who needs to understand just how much work a real pet would take. It works good and the animations are fine. Again, its not quite as good as the original but you get 4 for about the same price as one of those with more pet options so I think this is still a decent buy. ... show more
