I bought the "essentials" starter kit for my 5-year-old nephew. As we were unpacking the product, he found the setup of assembling the pieces together intriguing -- I'd identify items, he'd retrieve them and I'd assemble them... good way to get him to practice counting, learn colors and shapes. The set includes different shapes, including tubes and slides, that he wasn't accustomed to from his other magnetic tiles, legos, or train tracks, so he had to pause and think (and learn!) about what he wanted to do with his new toy. It also came with some characters, which he thought were interesting. Although he was eager to start building things with what he had in front of him (the stock set), I think he will grow into the toy later and start to take advantage of the blank canvases/tiles that he can customize, allowing him to unleash his creative juices and build more advanced things with these tiles. While he can assemble his own creations independently, it's also kind of cool to play with him together and help him create the ideas he comes up with on his own or as a result of my questions/coaching ("what can we do with this piece?"... "do you want to build 2 or 3 floors?"). He also brought over some cars/toys from other products and used them with the "structure" he created with Squaregles, and returned to this over the course of a few days as he set up his own little city/scenario. My child has immersed themselves in a new creation. My spouse and I were delighted to witness my kid creating something new and deeply engaging in the process. Nowadays, children are easily exposed to YouTube and games. We wanted our kid to experience the process of touching and exploring physical objects. We bought him numerous board games and character toys, but he always lost interest quickly. However, this toy was different. He was clearly focused and searched for it repeatedly. The magnets are high-performance, and the blocks are sturdy. The producer undoubtedly put much effort into the toy's quality. Moreover, there is neither an excessive nor a shortage of magnets, making it easy to organize. I am very happy about this aspect. I just got the package of squaregles and my kids could barely wait for me to open it. I loved how easy it opened and then the instructions cards inside were very useful. While I watched my children, 7 and 10, put together the pieces I realized how creative they were being. They were building and discussing where pieces should go and then had the ability to rearrange the pieces. As a teacher I immediately thought of how I could use this in my classroom and create writing activities and science lessons around it. I asked my kids if they thought this would be fun for school and they definitely agreed. They allowed me to bring it to my class and it was a hit. Love the colors and overall idea of the product. It has strong magnets, so it stays together well. My kids enjoyed building things with it and competed with each other on whos character would come down the quickest. Would like to buy extra pieces for the track bigger!

My husband and I, with over 34 years of experience in education, are continuously searching for STEAM toys for our grandchildren, ages 2 and 5. We purchased Squaregles for them and we all absolutely love this product. Upon opening the starter set the children immediately began connecting and building with the basic magnet shapes. They were later excited to discover the snap in colorful pieces, the play figures, the vehicles, and creative art components. While the 2 year old enjoys racing the cars and characters on the ramps and turns, the 6 year old likes to be busy drawing and creating scenes on the pop-in cards. Both are able to constructively work and play together with one toy. (My husband also enjoys designing complicated structures for them. I should get him a set.)Squaregles is now the favorite toy in my home. The children have always loved playing with magnet. Squaregles is a huge step above their other sets and we have noticed they play with them much longer. There's a lot more to this building set than others on the market, it has stronger magnets and more interactive pieces like tubes ramps and clips. It does take a bit to figure out, but we had a blast once we got the hang of it. Some ideas or examples of what you could build would be helpful. I would say that some of the building is a bit challenging for my 4 yr old to do independently but he'll grow into it. We are really enjoying building together and he loves the characters especially the ball heads! Our set was delivered on time and the seller was outstanding to work with. As a bit of a background, my 5 year old loves magnatiles and building everything. If he is not building, he is playing with hotwheels. Squaregles perfectly paired his love of both- his ability to creatively build and play with the cars (and people) once he has completed building. I have been incredibly impressed by the quality of Squaregles- it is very well made and durable. The magnetic parts allow the structures to stay up and my son does not experience the same frustrations with his magnatiles constantly falling over (or being knocked over by his brother). The cars and characters might be my second favorite part- my son has spent hours building different designs and racing cars through the different structures and often including the characters in the entire process, sleeping in houses, watching his races, having parties, etc. I would highly recommend this to anyone! ... show more
