  • Great buy
Style: Power Cage with Lat Pulldown(RED)
I usually dont review but thought I should for anyone else looking for a budget homegym. I was very skeptical prior to ordering this because some comments were great while others were bad but ultimately decided on buying it after reading and watching reviews If you're thinking of getting it, get it. It took me about 2 hours to assemble it by myself, mostly using the pictures and not reading the confusing text. Its is not too difficult to assemble but parts of the assembly are tricky (for example, while connecting the top back corner brackets; i thought they shipped me brackets that misaligned with screw holes but it turns out i had to orient it a certain way to align properly). I was missing one #4 screw but i blame shipping and handling for it. The build quality is great, although some parts were dinged and some chipped paint but again this is because of shipping. The price is beyond excellent for the quality. It is study but i noticed that wobbleness largely depends of how leveled your floor is. I didn't install the barbell holder because the location didn't make sense and the landmine because i wouldn't use it and didn't want any obstruction in my small path. Overrall, this was a great purchase and makes a great addition to my home gym. It is very functional and the dimensions were excellent for my small garage. ... show more

  • Very well thought out cage, easy assembly, excellent overall value
Style: Pro Power Cage -Red
My wife wanted a multifunction trainer and I wanted a cage, this has the best of both at an amazing price. We are 1 month in and this equipment is outstanding, loving it, absolutely worth it, using it every day. We had a machine for our home gym (Hoist V3) but really needed something for free weight barbell exercises and a dual-pulley multifunction trainer. This fits the bill perfectly. We got the red/black version and it looks great. Very well thought out piece of equipment. Some older similar products on Amazon had issues that this one seems to address. There are a lot of holes for adjusting the accessories/pullies, didn’t have a problem with finding a setting for any exercise that works for either of us. Assembly was a breeze, they couldn’t have made it easier. All bolts/nuts/washer are organized by the order you need them in the instructions. All bolts/nuts were perfectly sized and it’s easy to visually inspect to know if anything is under/over tightened, or if anything is coming loose. We used our own ratchet wrench, but just a warning, don’t overtighten! You can easily end up warping some of the metal. However, since the bolts are almost all the same length, you can visually inspect to see if one of the bolts has been over tightened relative to the others. During assembly we didn’t tighten any of the bolts until the very end, and everything fit together perfectly. The cage is incredibly sturdy, handles 225 lb bench press and squats without a fuss. Haven't gone heavier than that one ours. The frame is not too heavy. You can move it around fully assembled (empty without weight) without too much effort (but when you add the weights back it is too heavy to move around during standard lifting use). We installed this on top of soft rubber flooring tiles in our garage. I’ll mention some areas where it could be improved. The foot pedals for rowing are not great, you don’t get much of a stretch when doing rows. The 360 landmine fits awkwardly. Both sometimes get in the way. We have other equipment for back exercises so we ended up removing those. Compared to commercial gym equipment (and to our Hoist V3), the accessories… pull down bar, row bar, attachment clips… all feel kind of lightweight and cheap. They do their job, but we ended up upgrading these. There seems to be an little internal resistance in the cables machine, not exactly sure why but we can’t get the mechanism to go up/down smoothly. Less noticeable with more weight… not sure if it’s an alignment issue with the main rods or friction in the weight holder or just resistance in the rollers, we tried lubricating the rods and adjusted the bolts for the rods, but we can’t get that feeling of friction to go away. Some reviewers had said the cables are very smooth, that’s not the case for ours (not buttery smooth), so maybe our hardware has some sort of issue. Not a huge problem, but compared to our Hoist V3 (which is buttery smooth), you do feel some resistance. I really wish there was an option for a weight tree/bar holder on both sides of the unit, and also wish the weight tree had a second set of pegs on the weight stack. The weight tree does not enough space for all your weights. I had to purchase a stand alone weight tree for the other side of the unit with more pegs. So overall an amazing product, we are loving it, a great addition to our garage gym and we are using it every day. Highly recommend if you are looking for a multifunction dual-pulley trainer and a workout cage and you don’t have the space or budget for both. ... show more

  • Great Value for the Money
Style: Pro Power Cage with Cable Crossover
I switched from a Rogue Fitness wall mounted folding rack in my garage and wanted to move into the basement with something freestanding. I read the reviews of this rack and decided to give it a try. Here are my impressions upon unboxing: 1. Packaging - came in three boxes which were pretty heavy. I was able to move them myself but help would definitely make the job easier because of the length of the two bigger boxes. All equipment was accounted for and undamaged. 2. Equipment Quality - I would say this rack is EXACTLY what I expected it to be. Compared to the Rogue fitness rig I was coming from, the metal thickness/weight felt to be about 50-70% that of rogue. I knew this would not be as heavy duty as a Rogue Fitness build (3x3 11 gauge steel uprights), but I also think that I don’t need the J-cups and spotter arms to hold more than 500lbs MAX for any of my lifts. This rig is advertised as having a weight bearing capacity of 1600lbs, but I can’t nor would I recommend attempting to test that based on the feel of the rig. The welds look sloppy, but all seemed adequate to hold as required. All plastic parts/hardware/accessories were accounted for and free of damage. Overall, quality of the product is about exactly what I expected or maybe SLIGHTLY less than expected, for the price. 3. Assembly - the instruction/video were very straightforward. Assembly was time consuming but simple. A second set of hands can help when stabilizing the uprights, chin-up bar, or top cross members when building, but other than that it’s really a solo job. Pay attention to directionality for some of the uprights/crossmembers. I installed two backwards and cost myself some time. The cable will install WITHOUT removing the stopper ball (in fact, it cannot be removed). When installing the long single cable, you must run it all the way through the rig without the plastic pulleys installed. Once the cable is threaded entirely through the rig, then install the pulleys and bolt them in place. 4. Accessories - The accessories, like the rest of the rig, felt adequate, and about what I would expect for the price point. However, all of the bars, spotter arms, and J Cups feel very light in comparison to my rogue fitness rack. Again, I expected that going into this purchase, but I am still a little surprised with how different they feel. But the pieces seem adequate to get the job done, stressing again that my personal use with moderate weight will likely not be enough to stress this equipment to its compromise point. At least, that is my theory. I plan on continuing this review once I get some workouts under my belt. 5. Overall-without actually using this equipment yet, I rate it at four stars. Five stars would have been equivalent to my rogue fitness monster light wall mount system in quality. Again, I was not expecting rogue fitness quality out of this due to the lower price point. For an individual who is not going to bench or squat over 500 pounds, I feel this set up is safe and effective for the use. It would get out of one or two people in a household using the equipment on a daily or semi-daily basis. I think this equipment appears to be a great value for the price given all of the accessories, and the pulley system that come with the package. Very happy with this so far and I’m excited to use it and put it through some pieces to see how it will hold up under actual stress. 6. Actual Use I have been using the rack for about 4 workouts now. It has held up great. The pulley system has worked fantastically and is my favorite part of the setup. Very smooth, but I may try lubricating the wight sled poles to see if that makes a difference. The dip bars move slightly when in use, but not to the point they feel unsafe. Not sure what the weight capacity is, but I would be nervous about going over 240 or so pounds. J cups work but are only flat and angled up. There is no lip at the end to catch your bar. I prefer j cups with a lip as I can rest the bar in its final position before removing. These still do the job, but that is a feature I miss. The spotter bars feel solid and capable of handling my weight should I fail. The spotter arms feel much less so (understandably) and wiggle slightly when in place as they are not exactly flush against the upright. The band pegs work as advertised. All the attachment, while feeling very light worked great and did everything I expected. Again, VERY happy with the equipment so far. Next test will be durability to see how it holds up in the next 3-6 months. ... show more
