    • Nice Smith machine
I looked at quite a few Smith machines before purchasing this one. It's hard to decide what is going to give a good workout. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. First, putting the machine together took time and had to open 3 boxes before actually starting. It took about 8 hours to put it together. The directions were good though so no complaints. After putting it together, the machine is sturdy and I don't have concerns about it taking apart. The main bar has very smooth movement and works great. The safety stops on it are nice if working out solo. Most of the pulleys for the front of the machine are plastic but they seem good quality and rolled well. The height adjustment for the front of the machine allows numerous push or pull exercises and is great. There is a good amount of weight on the machine... 352 pounds. That is enough for most any exercise. I have used the machine just a handful of times so far and am satisfied with the machine. It is sturdy, well made, and I get a good workout. I have done my research with all the smith rack combos on Amazon and other advertised places. What caught my attention was the included weight stacks. Others have the setup to add your own plates which can get annoying if you don't have enough 10 lbs plates and you have to exchange plates when you change your workout. I was able to start working out right after I built it. It's stable, the instructions were good, but the video was even better. Overall it was easy to assembly without any issues. My stuff was a little dusty but had no issues cleaning it up. For beginner and intermediate weight training, this is a great bang for the buck! I do wish it came with one or two more accessories which is the Triangle aka Double D row attachment and dip attachments, but those are cheaply available online. For those who recommended 3x3 steel, I don't think it makes a difference for my workouts since I am not putting up Olympian's worth of weights. I look forward to putting out a video to provide you more details. But the other guy did a good job capturing what needed to be said. ... show more

I'll try to come back and add photos later but here is what you need to know ***Watch the video before the install, and during the install it will help you understand what you are doing, and has items in it that the WRITTEN DIRECTIONS SKIP! for instance the back bar has bolts that go in from the bottom and if you have already built the sides you have to lift it off the ground to install them.... *** More notes/ thoughts... 1- I built it by myself with some power tool assistance it took around 8 hours by myself 2- the CABLE is tight and i have to pull it down to set the weights each time, hoping it stretches out, it has minimal adjustment settings (even with the bolt mostly out it still too tight) 3- I wish you could pick the side to put the 'foot pad' or even come with 2 foot pads for the "row function" currently bottom left side. 4- I flipped the direction of a few bolts for a cleaner look from the 'inside' 5- It is in KGS on both sides of the weight stack, no LBS numbers I am going to print some and add them myself 6- It has 2 stacks which is great to workout with my sons at the same time 7- YOU DO NEED at least 9' in width (minimum) if you plan to use the weight holders on the sides of the machine and be able to access them.. They recommend 11' CIRCLE 8- Very heavy duty and the cables/ wheels spin well I may add more later. ... show more

I was shocked at the quality of the product. The instructions are very clear and everything is sectioned well down to the screws. The only downside is that sometimes if you pull the cables to far the post comes out.

Just finished my first workout on this machine and I’m so glad I got it. Anyone spending this amount of money on something with 2 reviews would be nervous but this will offer me a variety of workouts and convenience that was a driving force when purchasing. Set up was pretty straight forward. We had some hiccups when the video and instructions conflicted, causing us to need to flip the weights (place them like it says in the video and remember right and left are when you are facing the same way the machine is), and one hole that was not fully cut through in the factory, so we had to do some serious metal bending, but it realistically takes 6-8 hours to set up with unpacking an organizing. The cables pull smoothly. Very happy with my purchase so far! ... show more

    • Great inexpensive smith and cable machine
This is a great inexpensive smith and cable machine. It does have some minor drawbacks but I find them acceptable for the price. I was able to put it together myself but would recommend having a friend. There are 8 boxes that range from 50 lbs to 130lbs. Negatives: The cage width is quite small. So if you're a larger being, like above 6' and wide set you won't be able to get a wide grip for the smith bar. Smith bar also doesn't get lower than like 2 ft. The weights for the cable are a bit light as well. Physical directions do leave something to be desired. Do not use WD-40 as a lubricant as suggested by the manual because WD-40 is not, get silicone grease or something like that. Positives: Great price and quality is superb. Smith and cables move really smoothly, might need to apply grease in the future. Even though the assembly instructions aren't great there is a video which makes it much easier. Comes with a decent number of attachments and they're not bad but I will be upgrading. ... show more
