  • Works well and fits Prius C
Style: Sr1002
Works well on my 2013 Toyota Prius C and is fairly cheap to purchase. However, neither measurements in the manual for the regular Prius nor Yaris were any good. The Prius C seems to have the door frame area where you'd mount this at around a 60-70% angle so I had to make sure L shaped mounting pieces had the best grip possible. To do that, I had to take the front down to 3-4 on each side and 2-3 on the back so that the rack gripped the roof properly and securely. I mounted a roof cargo basket and have had no issues with about 50-60lbs on cargo basket in test drives I've done. Nothing moved whatsoever and I'm able to move the whole car when testing if the roof rack is secured. Unfortunately, have not taken a ride longer than 20 miles with it so far though (bought it for a summer roadtrip). Points to mention: 1. Came a bit banged up from shipping. Nothing too bad but plastic on bars is chipped in spots. 2. Instructions are garbage 3. The mounting pieces come with thick plastic around metal to protect car. The thick plastic is great to keep your car from scratching . However, the doors will be harder to close because of it and you'll hear a pop anytime you open the doors or at least that was the case for my car. Recommend scrapping off at least some of the plastic off so parts sit more flush with doors and avoid popping noises. You might scratch the paint inside the door area a bit if you do it though. It's not visible with the doors closed and worth it to me but maybe not for everyone. Will update review with images of it on car around July (2019) and any more information I might have after proper usage. ... show more

  • Bad design, wouldn't trust it.
Style: Sr1010
First, let me say that I have been using roof racks for 20+ years on a half dozen different cars of varying types, this was the worst junk I've handled. First, it arrived all taped up and it was obviously returned by someone else and I can see why. Despite it being rated for my vehicle, the product simply didn't fit. I spent an hour installing and reinstalling it at different angles and positions trying to find one that was sturdy. Every time it was loose and the few times I got it to feel sturdy, pushing with my finger on the attachment point would cause the clamp that goes down into the door frame to pop right out. Even the sturdiest position I could find I'm pretty sure it wouldn't make it 10 miles down the road before the clamps failed and everything wend flying damaging my car and likely incurring a lawsuit by anyone following me. Beyond the questionable engineering, the foot pads are total junk. They are smooshy soft rubber pads that sit under the metal but they are free-floating only attached with little rubber nubbins that kinda pop into holes, as soon as you tighten down the rack the rubber smooshes like silicone and the nubbins get pulled out. Even if the clamp held, this smooshy rubber foot pad adds to the rack shifting around, the pad should be attached to the metal permanently, not this cheap add on silicone-like cap that just adds to making the rack less sturdy. Over all, the rack is just junk, maybe they fit other cars better, but I wouldn't trust it on any car, spend a little more, go with a real Thule or some other solid product, this bargain basement garbage will hurt you in the long run. ... show more

  • Worth it if you are handy or good at figuring things out
Style: Sr1002
Worth it if you are handy or good at figuring things out. Installation instructions are not much, but the rack it self is very simple and straight forward design. It did took me a little while to get the rack perfect, but its was mostly because of the curvy design of my car roof. The rack it self it's very sturdy, I've driven with my kayak on foam blocks up to 65 mph very confident, and with my bike on a Yakima rack up to 80 mph. But to be extra safe, I avoid highways if I can. I recommend running a wind fairing because the square tube designed can be loud for some ppl. Also, I recommend re adjusting and re checking everything after the first few rides. Mine needed further adjustment after the first time I drove with my bike on the rack, and it has been perfect ever since. 2004 Toyota Matrix XRS I got mine used for under $130, got a few dings and dangs but everything was there. If you're not very good with your hands, go ahead a pay $500-700 for a professional to install a main brand rack on your car. ... show more
