I have a 12-year-old domestic longhair cat that at one point was 24 lbs. A lot of people who see him mistake him for a Maine Coon. I have a normal-sized pet carrier that I've been putting him in, and he doesn't have room to do anything. That's because a foldable canvas one I WAS using, was torn up by a stray I had to house in it briefly, and then 2 more kittens eventually tore it up more so they could squeeze through and escape. I met a woman the last time I was at the vet, who had a nice carrier for her cat. It was about the size of the canvas carrier I previously used. She couldn't remember where she got it, though. So, I went searching on Amazon after measuring the current carrier and the canvas carrier, to find something that would work. I came across this, and just put it together this morning. It was insanely easy to assemble. I appreciated that. I am thoroughly impressed with it. It is very sturdy. I would say it's good for pets that are about the size of a Maine Coon, or a Corgi. Lots of room. They also sell a pet bed that fits in it nicely, which I purchased. The best part is that the carrier has wheels that can snap in and out easily while being completely locked into place. So, you can use wheels on it, or not. I highly recommend this carrier, especially if you're traveling... the wheels would make that a breeze (but could also be an issue with rolling around an airplane, or vehicle if not strapped into place). ... show more

This is my second purchase of a SportPet Designs Plastic Kennel XXL Size. I purchased the first one for a standard sized, 70Lb, English Goldendoodle, and liked the ease of assembly, sturdiness, and how well made it was that I purchased another for our other English Goldendoodle. These are nice crates. You'll need some kind of mat or dog bed, for your dog to lay on, as the bottom of the crate is just hard plastic. The first one that I bought was about $100.00 Less than this one, and probably because of inflation. I like the crate, but not the price change, but it seems that inflation is now about 43%, on most things, and rising. ... show more

Bought for my anxious 50# dog when he is in the car. Specifically bought it to be a "tight" fit for him as big crates toss him around in the car and he gets super upset. Turns out he loves it and when we bring it inside from the car, he'll curl up in it before we can fold it up and store it!! Pros: lightweight, compact when folded, easy to fold, cute color, sides are half vented at (top) top & solid (bottom) on 3 sides, making dog feel secure but provides circulation. Door is metal w easy to use lock. Our anxious pup loves it and lock is very eaay to engage and secure, but if u have an escape artist or super heavy chewer I could see them manipulating it to escape. This is durable for day to day use but not rugged, if that makes sense. Overall, best crate we've purchased (and we've purchased a lot!) Prior metal one was sooooo heavy and not aesthetically pleasing. :) To be aware of (not really a "con"): there is a small crack in a corner but it doesnt affect the structure stability so we didnt report it to seller... didn't notice it until a couple days after we used it and it was 1st time we used it in the car and maybe we were a bit rough as we reclined the seat back to hold it in place for our (super) anxious dog. ... show more

Got a GSD puppy. She will be able to grow in this. Got it to transport her from Hawaii to Calif. It was easy to assemble. Puppy loved it. She did try chewing on it but it held up well. Was the perfect size to take on the plane. When we landed one of the handles was missing but the crate itself held up well. She does feel safe inside it as I used it for over a month before the flight. Love having the wheels on it so it made transporting her much easier. Good ventilation as well.
