So far, this is a nice reel. I have a large fishing pole that I use for dunking and the reel recently broke due to the high amount of salt water. I clean it after every trip, but it finally gave out due to time. I'm hoping this one lasts a few years. Out of the box, it has smooth movement and a nice polished feel. So this came in and I must say that I really like it. Just how it feels in the hand is nice. It looks really nicely made. The only thing I don't like is the lack of paperwork or anything telling you where you can get replacement parts for it because the inside flap of the box shows a breakdown of the reel and a list of all the parts. Beyond that I like it. I plan to give it a workout next week and see if I can catch this huge alligator gar that has been taking our line on smaller reels with 25lbs drag max. I was able to pick up this Big Surf Fishing Reel for half price which was its was its selling point for me. The advertising fooled me in thinking it was decent reel. I noticed to cheap quality of this reel when I mounted it on a fishing reel. This is what gave it away, the arm between the reel and rod seat is very weak. You are able to get movement between the reel and rod. Its a plastic arm! I bought this reel to mount on a cheap surf rod that I let the kids use so at the price I paid for the reel it makes everything good when the Rod & Reel gets abused. ... show more
