For the price, this thing is fine. I wouldn't take it out in salt water or for any sort of real game fish but if you're just throwing lines in the local pond, lake or canal like I do with my kids on the weekend, it works fine. It's a spinning reel, it's not like it really has to do that much. I have a few of these cheap reels on random rods just so I can keep them rigged with different baits or hooks, or just have a quick back-up when the kids mess up the line on another pole. ... show more
