Description

What relieves spinal stenosis and back pain? What helps? What doesn’t help? What do these procedures cost? And what’s your doctor not suggesting to you? “Spinal Stenosis and Back Pain Treatments Reviewed” is an evaluation of 36 pain relief procedures, exercises, alternatives, gadgets, ointments, and more that have been personally tested by a spinal stenosis sufferer. Some treatments offer temporary relief, but others do little to alleviate the pain. Many are expensive, with both money and time wasted. You become more frustrated when something you try doesn’t work and the pain lingers on. If you have been told that you have spinal stenosis, chances are you’re researching treatments. This book can help you choose which treatments to try. This information may save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars by enabling you to make better choices for your situation. And you could be introduced to options that you didn’t know were available. If you’re newly diagnosed with spinal stenosis, or live with relentless back pain, this short book will give you the author’s personal insights and outcomes he experienced with a wide range of back pain treatment types and other options. This book briefly describes each treatment, the author’s personal experience, the approximate cost, and his bottom-line review. The treatments profiled in this book include: 1. Physical Therapy 2. Epidural Steroid Injection 3. Facet Joint Injection 4. Rhizotomy 5. Platelet Rich Plasma Regenerative Treatment 6. Spinal Fusion Surgery 7. NSAIDS, Opioids, and Prescription Medications 8. Back Brace 9. Walking 10. Weight Lifting 11. Stretching 12. Swimming 13. Chiropractic 14. Psoas Muscle Adjustments 15. Kinesiology Taping 16. Massage 17. Floatation Therapy 18. Acupuncture 19. Cryotherapy 20. Whole Body Vibration 21. Spinal Decompression 22. Inversion Table 23. TENS Unit 24. Scenar Unit 25. Over-the-Counter Pain Relief 26. Pain Relief Supplements 27. Food Sensitivity 28. Topical Creams, Lotions and Potions 29. Ergonomics 30. Standing Desk 31. Handheld Spinal Traction Devices 32. Massage and Zero Gravity Chair 33. Mattress 34. Pillows 35. Hydration and Alkaline Water 36. Meditation Over the years, the author has spent tens of thousands of dollars on the treatments and other options to relieve back pain. With medical care costs skyrocketing, and most people dealing with high insurance deductibles or co-pays, you need to be smart about where you decide to spend your hard-earned money on spinal stenosis and back pain treatment. The author was first diagnosed with spinal stenosis in 2010. He was in pain and couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t go away. The pain was getting worse and he was desperate for relief. He met with a surgeon who told him the only relief would come from spinal fusion surgery. Soon after the appointment, he decided to have the surgery. He had about five good years of relief. But then the spinal stenosis came back in 2015, spreading to the spinal column both above and below where he had the surgery. After dozens of medical procedures, alternative approaches, exercise, prescriptions, over-the-counter pills, creams, and more, he has summarized his findings in "Spinal Stenosis and Back Pain Relief Treatments Reviewed." • FANTASTIC book!!
Do you suffer from back problems? I know I do! During my most recent "back attack" I was extremely fortunate to have a friend of mine, Gary Hennerberg, point me to a book he had written on his experiences with back problems. What a fantastic book! It is plainly written about the various treatments he has tried, what they are, and how they helped out did not help his spinal stenosis. He covers everything from over the counter meds to the various apparatus' available, and even surgery. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who has back pain or knows of someone who does! I also want to personally thank my friend and brother in harmony for his generosity and his help! Gary also has many equally incredible marketing and sales books which he has authored and has a highly reputable and successful marketing firm, and is a very talented bass singer with the Vocal Majority! Again, GET THIS BOOK! Thanks Gary! You are truly a God send! ... show more

  • Obviously, at one time, a blog post, still good
I don't recall how much I paid for this, but when looking for solutions to spinal stenosis, it's a useful survey. I would wish, and suggest, that western med tends to del emphasize spine health. This is crazy, and no, that doesn't mean I think chirps are the answer. What we need is a new type of professional, no doubt seen hints of in sports med - but one which emphasizes movement health, postural alignment, flexibility, stretching and balance. After two weeks doing Egoscue for hip pain, the changes I experienced were profound, noticeable not just by me but by a friend. IOW, do things to prevent stenosis ahead of time, when you are younger: combinations of the above plus nutrition joy, ( stay away from soft drinks, know that salt and caffeine can be detrimental to bone health.) I'd also recommend Sarno's books on back pain, and the book Crooked. Not sure if mentioned in this book, but a wealthy acquaintance of mind has had good luck with prolotherapy, but was already very athletic. ... show more

  • Quick, yet in depth. Great for multiple audiences
Each chapter is a quick read and gives enough information to start thinking about your own personal experience and research. I sent this book to my uncle who has also suffered for a long time with spinal stenosis. He was happy to read about alternative procedures from what his doctor had recommended. The format is easy to read, and a great starting point in research. It's also a great way to understand from an outsiders perspective a small part of what a spinal stenosis sufferer goes through with all the pain and expense of treatments, especially for such a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Waste of money
It is a stretch to call this a book. Pamphlet would be more accurate. It's a 10 minute read and not worth the purchase price. The premise was good and some of the experience shared helpful but nothing in depth or substantial enough to warrant calling this a book.

  • Brief and very informative
I truly enjoyed this book. The author seems very open-minded and thoughtful about the subject--and I find it interesting to read about this issue from the perspective of the 'patient' rather than the practitioner. I'm reading several other books about stenosis, but this was an excellent start. Thank you to the author for writing this brief account of his experience with stenosis. ... show more

  • A very good overview
I, too, have spinal stenosis and have tried many of the treatments listed by the author. His list includes a few treatments that I didn't know about. Perhaps most important, however, is hearing from a fellow traveler (I don't want to say sufferer) what I already know, i.e., that whatever I do, I will have good days and bad days, and the things that will help me are apt to have significant out-of-pocket costs. Affimation of one's reality is a valuable thing. ... show more
