The main reason I bought this one is that this one goes from one long edge of the phone to the other long edge, compared to the other stands that are just in the middle of the phone. This makes the phone lay stable on the table when the stand is not open. So if my phone is lying down when the kickstand is not open, I am able to type on the phone without wobbling my phone. With other stands, my phone will always rock left and right and it was very annoying. To achieve this I put the stand near the top of the phone instead of the bottom (like everyone else). Please see my attached video. im not sure if its just the one that i got but its the first time ive ever really had an issue with spigen products. with light to medium taps on my phone or placing my phone onto a table the kickstand will deploy. 100% of the time when i try to put my phone in my pocket the kickstand is deployed. for sure im going to break it. nice idea not too sure how theyre gonna fix it. the same design works well on y wifes iphone 11 case though. although her magnetic kickstand is built in. ... show more

Honestly I didn't have very high expectations of this kick stand, but for $9 I'm really pleased! I bought this to put on the back of the case of the iPhone 5S that my husband and I gave our 4.5 year old son after we upgraded so he could watch his videos and play his games on it. One of his favorite things to do is put little music videos on YouTube kids and jump around or do the actions with them (Going on a Bear Hunt, Slippery fish, Wheels on the Bus etc). That's hard to do when you're holding the phone, so I got this little kickstand so he could prop it on the table, his toy box, the window sill, fireplace, dresser or wherever he's playing so he can play along with whatever he's watching/listening to. So far it works really well! What I like: - Metal, not cheap plastic like similar products - Love the magnetic closure that keeps it from popping open spontaneously - Sticks really securely to the back of the case we have even though it's not a perfectly smooth surface. To be clear, I understood before I bought it that it was only recommended for use on smooth cases or surfaces but I was hopeful that it would work well enough on the textured plastic back of case we have (see pics) and so far so good! Definitely has exceeded my expectations on that front - VERY small/slim profile!! I love that this is hardly noticeable when it's closed. We charge the phone on a charging station/dock and this stand doesn't interfere with the phone standing up straight up on the docking station. Also, because of its slim and rounded profile and magnetic closure, it doesn't get caught or opened when stuffing the phone into a pocket or bag. - Good viewing angle! The viewing angle (which obviously depends in part on where/how you place the stand) seems to be perfect for sitting at a table. - Attractive. This kick stand is tiny but it doesn't look cheap or cheesy. Its look very much compliments the sleek sexy style of most modern smart phones and while we bought this for our kid, it would very much be an accessory that both my husband and I would have no problem putting on our own devices because it looks professional and elegant. - Comes with an extra sticky strip - Universal for any case or device! Things I wish were better: - It definitely helps to have finger nails to open this kick stand. My 4.5 year old with his chubby fingers has a really hard time opening it by himself. I know the minimal design helps it keep a sleek and slim profile, but I feel like there could be an easier way to open it. - The hinge (which I have had NO problems with so far) does strike me as being a little delicate. Again, it hasn't broken, so I have nothing to complain about, but I do worry about it breaking. However, for the price, this is something that is easily replaced and that you get your moneys worth out of very quickly. - Doesn't come with any directions for application or use. I mean, it's pretty intuitive, but I always appreciate it when items come with some sort of note on the IDEAL application location and process and tips for use etc. This came with nothing whatsoever. In summary, for the price and our uses, this little kickstand seems to be in a class by itself and I can highly recommend it! I have had great experience with a variety of Spigen products by now and this is no exception! And for the record I did NOT receive this item for free or a discount. ... show more

I bought the kick stand for my new Samsung Z Fold 2, got the stand yesterday and honestly only used it twice. This morning I wanted to have my screen up next to my computer and I put it up and the phone floped back and the hinge on this thing was completely broken. I honestly have no clue why it broke so easily and honestly on the 3rd use. Maybe the Z Fold is too big and heavy? It's possible but I find it very difficult to believe it should've been heavy enough to snap the hinge. The adhesion was fantastic, I had to pry it off for the pictures, but it's certainly not durable. I dunno what else to say but I am extremely disappointed. ... show more

Got this doohickey today, stuck it to the back of my cell phone case and set it on my desk, seemed ok, played some Apex on my PC. An hour later I picked up my phone and flipped the kickstand out for the first time, the kickstand leg flung out at Mach speed and smacked my PC's 1080ti. Upon further inspection I noticed one side of the setting pin was not crush fit enough to keep it in it's guide, I'm somewhat disappointed as I'm usually a fan of spigens stuff. ... show more

    • Love kickstand is easy to install - you might still need some glue

The kickstand is made out of aluminum, so it's "fairly sturdy" (more on this below). It uses adhesive so you can easily add it to any case. When you do stick it to a case, make sure you do it in an area that's completely flat. As for "fairly sturdy"... I did run into the design flaw that was called out by people. Turns out the metal rod is tapered to prevent it from falling out, but one end was not large enough for me. As a result, through use over time, the metal rod may move enough to pop out of it's joint (however it is tapered enough so that the entire thing won't come apart, it'll just get loose at the joints). I think this is because this is originally built for their "ultra hybrid s" line of cases. If you look at one of those, the case has plastic tabs that dig into the area where the rod is, preventing it from ever popping out. To mimic that, the easiest way to fix it in my mind is to add some super glue to the outside of the rod area, and it'll help prevent the slippage. And if the rod ever does slip out of the joint, just line it up again, and bang on it with a piece of metal and it'll go back in easily (I used the handle of a spoon), then add some super glue :) In the future, I expect Spigen to fix this on their next version, since the flaw is not that hard to fix. ... show more
