Discover the world of the multi-award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider- Verse in this stunning collection of art. Packed with concept art, final designs, and artist commentary plus previously unseen storyboards. Discover the secrets of the Spider-Verse in this visually stunning collection of more than 500 pieces of artwork from the Oscar-winning, groundbreaking animated feature film! Fans can go behind the scenes with the creators of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and get a look at concept art, final designs, and artist commentary, plus previously unseen storyboards. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man universe. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse where more than one wears the mask. This luxurious oversized art book unmasks the artistry behind the dazzling and thoroughly original movie with a unique visual style that’s the first of its kind. Here you’ll find fascinating insights into the filmmakers’ creative process: • Exclusive commentary from creators Phil Lord and Christopher Miller on their inspirations for their unique new take on Spider- Man, rooted in his comics origins and the idea of a post-modern Spider-Man in an environment that has multiple spider-people from all of the comics, and giving the film an even stronger visual identity by leaning into the comic book language. • Concept art and sketches of every featured character and location in the film. Meet Miles Morales, the Peter Parkers, Spider- Gwen/Ghost-Spider, Spider-Ham, Peni and SP//dr and Spider-Man Noir—as well as villains Green Goblin, Scorpion, Tombstone, the Prowler, Doctor Octavius and Kingpin. Explore New York City and State, from Miles’s Brooklyn home to Manhattan, the Hudson Valley Forest, Spider-Man’s hideout and Wilson Fisk’s particle collider. • Unseen storyboards and paintings of key scenes—including Miles meeting the older Peter Parker for the first time; Miles swinging through the city, exploring the subway, and swinging through the forest; the fight at Aunt May’s; and Uncle Aaron’s death. • 2 gatefolds feature the film’s complete color script by Dave Bleitch and artwork by Justin K. Thompson, Wendell Dalit, Alberto Mielgo and Yuhki Demers depicting Miles Morales/Spider- Man; storyboards by Ryan Savas of Miles exploring his powers for the first time; and lighting keys by Wendell Dalit of the same sequence. • A foreword written by Brian Michael Bendis, Miles Morales’ co-creator and executive producer of the film. Go into the Spider-Verse any time you want with this special compilation of art from the film that belongs on every fan’s coffee table! “The visual look of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a marvel. Seeing how they came to the design choices they did is... worth the price of this book and then some”- Vespe's Holiday Gift Guide Read more

  • Redefining the Animated Movie Genre
I split my review into three paragraphs. Each about: the movie, the art book’s contents, and shipment and delivery. If you have yet to see Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, I strongly recommend seeing the movie before purchasing the art book. It was the best animated movie of 2018 (as it was nominated for and won the Oscar for that category). And in my opinion, it is by far the greatest animated movie I have ever seen in my life. It is hands down my favorite. To those who say it seems childish are foolish to think so as it is not aimed at any particular age. Anyone of any age can watch this and enjoy the movie thoroughly. To those who say it’s overrated are wrong as it is one of the least grossing marvel movies (all inclusive) that have come out with the past few years. Everyone needs to see this movie. To my title of this review, too many animated movies today are so focused on making the animations more realistic. Spiderverse was an excellent change of pace for this genre. Regarding this product specifically. I was not disappointed. I’m no artist but this was a purchase I could not refuse. I’ve only skimmed through the book and haven’t completely read and seen everything word-for-word and picture-by-picture, but I’ve enjoyed it nonetheless. The concept artwork of the characters, scenes, atmosphere, is just breathtaking. I felt like I was watching a behind the scenes of the movie. The only “complaint” I have about the art book is that it did NOT have a dedicated section to the final, final battle of the movie. It has some pictures and concept art of the final battle scenes, but nothing more than that. It was unfortunate it didn’t have it’s own, dedicated section. Outside of that, nothing was damaged externally or internally of the book. There was no warping from of the pages or cover shipping for my copy. I ordered this all the way back in December and it just arrived on March 30th, 2019. While it was frustrating to wait THIS LONG to finally get my hands on this artbook, giving this product a 1-star rating is discourteous, as some other reviewers have done so. My order was a PRE-ORDER, and I knew that the product will take a significant amount of time to be shipped and delivered. Especially since I ordered it in December of 2018... the month the movie was premiered. The book at that time was still being finalized and completing its publication process. Unless you pre-ordered, I personally wouldn’t use reviews whom have pre-ordered this product (including mine) as a way to reflect your decision on ordering this item. That only is if time is a concern. Otherwise, if you’re interested in purchasing, the product does NOT disappoint. It is phenomenal and highly recommend this art book. Hopefully you consider it! ... show more

  • Worth every penny
I’m not a frequent reviewer at all, but this is worth every penny and is above ‘satisfactiory’. From the gloss detail on the cover to the texture of the paper, you can tell how well thought out and purposeful every aspect of it is. Any artist or admirer of the film or the art style should 100% invest in this. 45$ seemed a little spendy, but now that i’m holding it, i can tell where every dollar went. Excellent coffee table book, and is essential to the art book collection. ... show more

  • Gorgeous art
Gifted this to my teenager and she’s obsessed. She loves the movies, but as an artist, this is a really cool behind-the-scenes kinda thing to have.

  • Beautiful Book, Memorable Movie
Absolutely fantastic book. I purchased this back in December as soon as I got home from watching this in theater, and I rarely write reviews but I reread the book again today and thought I should leave a review. My photos do the book no justice- The colors in print are vibrant and engaging, the text walks the reader through the process of creating the characters and their designs, the storyboards are fantastic to look through and relive the movie through visuals. This is a book that I'd easily drop $50+ on considering its quality, though luckily it's only $25 ($22 as I write this review). Each and every frame in the movie can be paused to look like a digital painting, and I just wanted to buy the book so I could admire specific frames and the process of creating it for as long as I wanted. I love flipping through this book when I'm feeling uninspired since I also paint digitally too. Absolutely fantastic book, would recommend it to everyone, regardless of whether you draw, are into movies and art, or just enjoyed Into the Spiderverse. ... show more
