I wanted a slim protective iPhone case that was more grippy and secure in my hand than my old one which was far more slippery than I expected it to be when I bought it. Despite the many reviews here that complained that this product is not made the way it once was, I purchased it anyway thinking that the raised ribs on this one would surely be better than what I had before, even if it wasn't the best. The attractive price made it seem like it was worth a shot. Well, I've gotta' say I've been blown away at how much I am pleased with this purchase, enough that I felt compelled to write this review. The case is very attractive and well made with excellent fit and finish. It is easier to pick up my phone from a table without it slipping out of my hand like my old case had the habit of doing. It's comfortable to hold and feels far more secure in my hand than the older case. I didn't realize from the description of the product that the "soft-touch finish" was in fact a rubberized silicone finish that makes the case more grippy and comfortable than I was expecting. A pleasant surprise! I can't speak to the old design with the inlaid rubber ribs but I've been very pleased with this one. The experience with this new case has been oddly and unexpectedly transformative as it almost feels like my iPhone 12 mini is new and better device with better ergonomics! ... show more

I bought a Speck Presidio 2 for an iPhone 12 mini. I haven't tested it for "drop protection", but I like everything else about it. The case was easy to install and fits well. Much of the surface is covered with small ridges which make the case easier to grasp and less prone to sliding on most surfaces. The holes for the switch and for inserting the lightning wire are well-placed and the right size. The buttons that cover the phone's 3 buttons fit well and work with no extra effort or attention. The case is slim, but looks like it will provide adequate protection against drops. Finally, the plastic used to make the case seems to be a good compromise between being hard enough to last well and soft enough to grip easily. The case is much easier to pick up and hold than the phone without the case. Someone did some very good work designing this case. Thanks! ... show more

I’ve been using speck iPhone cases for many years and it’s the only brand I use. They are truly unreal when it comes to drop protection. I drop my phone a lot sadly, and not once has anything cracked or broke. I also like that their designs are minimal and don’t bulk up the phone much. They are also really budget friendly unlike the Otter brand. You won’t be disappointed! Best brand out there! ... show more

I’m a case snob and still think the Speck V-Grip is the best case for any iPhone. Well, they haven’t made that case for the iPhone 12 yet. This new version of the Presidio Grip doesn’t have the rubber slits anymore but it is still somewhat grippy. It has pronounced TPU grips that let you hold the phone securely. Finally, the case is built like a tank. The one area where Speck cases of the past were weak at- the area above the charging port where it was previously just a tiny piece of rubber- is now solid and protective TPU. Love Speck. The protection is perfect. The lip around the screen side is deeper than others. There is a Speck for everyone. Mine is clear and sleek. My husband has the grip. Grab cool designs when they have them as there aren’t many, unfortunately.
