So far, this amp has done its job flawlessly. It hasn't gotten hot while I've shown off my Sundown Audio SA-12's, even thought it's only assisted by a capacitor. Very happy with this amp, which replaced a brand new Orion Zreet 8000 watt amp that went up in smoke. Scarily, I should add. The bass has been tight, clear, and powerful. Great amp! ... show more

    • Amp died after less than a year of light usage
The amp sounded great, provided plenty of power to my 2 x 12" subs with gain set less than 1/4. Was professionally installed and all was good until it all of a sudden died. It blew the fuse driving home, when the fuse was replaced, and amp turned back on, it made a thumping sound for 5 seconds then blew the fuse again. I reinstalled my old amp and worked no problem, so 100% this was an amp issue. Price for the power was too good to be true, and dont expect this amp to last more than a few months, maybe a year with light usage. ... show more

It of course is not an 8 k amp I mean it has 4 ga inputs but it does pretty good so I have no complaints yet.

    • Cheap and powerful!
I love this amp, very powerful and can push 2 12s easy. Really good price for how good it is. I see alot of reviews about it overheating easy and melting everything inside,but I haven't had this problem yet.

This amp bangs I hooked it up to 6 alpine type r 12s in my car and pushing them hard it get a lil hot I got it wired to 1 ohm very satisfied with the amp worth the very happy with it

This thing hits harder than any other amp I had 2 12 I blew out because I was pushing way to much energy you don’t need a capacitor To run it if you gonna run 2 12 lower it under 50 percent and as any thing smaller don’t do it get the smaller amp but you can push a lot on this one amp it’s only made for subs because it only has one Chanel ... show more

    • 2.5-3 stars after almost 2yrs update
2020 update: (2.5-3 stars) I had 2 of these amps and blew both. It took almost 2 years but I'm used to my amps lasting 7-10yrs or more and these are ok but they can't last if you really start to push heat. I would say buy a better amp if you want something that will last. This amp doesn't really give you 8000 watts, but its been good so far and I got 2 of them for my cars. I have one hooked to 2 Skar Audio Evl 12 D2 wired parallel and its pushing them. I can say so far I like the amp and I run all OFC Heavy Gauge wires to my amps and this thing isn't getting real hot and its pushing power and not turned up real far. I haven't had a problem in the past with soundsteam so I'll see how the long run goes with this amp. ... show more
