  • There are Anker Soundcore mini’s 1, 2, and 3 - all available on Amazon. - just FYI
Color: Black
From what i can see - The original soundcore mini is 5 watts - (i think uses micro usb charger, but check) - @$20 The soundcore mini 2 is 6 watts, And uses a micro usb charger - @$29 The soundcore mini 3 is also 6 watts, but offers more sound features, and uses the Type C charger - @$39 I just received the Mini 2 a day ago, and I’m pretty impressed with it for its size. It actually sounds better (not AS loud, but better) than my original Oontz Angle. The bass/low sound reproduction is pretty incredible for something this small. The only down side i see so far is at full volume, the volume seems to dip on the highs/mids when “music” really starts. I assume this is from the power being demanded by the speaker for the lows. Its not horrible, but noticeable. Turning the volume down a notch or two seems to eliminate it. I wasn’t aware there even was a mini 2 at first (When i searched Amazon for ‘small Bluetooth speaker’), until i did a little more looking around before i finally ordered it. The Mini 3 must have just been released, and i had no idea it existed. So I just ordered the mini 3 as well - simply for the convenience of having the speaker with a type c charger since this will be getting used while I’m at work, and my current phone and tablet both use the type C charger already. I expect overall the volume will be very similar to the mini 2 Since the power output is rated the same - but we shall see. I will report back if I’m able. The soundcore mini 2 is very impressive -FOR its size. So have realistic expectations on just how loud and deep they will be. This is not a replacement for a speaker 5 times is size. That said - for something smaller than a tennis ball - the quality of the sound and volume is very impressive. I would have never expected it to sound as good as it does. Not having received the mini 3 just yet, if you dont care about custom sound settings (i cant be bothered with any of that) and are good with a standard micro USB connector we’ve all been using for years - then you can probably save a few $ and get the mini 2, or even the original mini if they extra watt the 2 and 3 get you doesnt matter to you. For me - this will likely spend the majority of its life in a truck’s cup holder making watching videos or movies during downtime at work while the truck it running - and actually being able to hear it - a possibility. Cases seem available for about $10 - and the mini 2 didnt come with its own charger or cord. The mini 3 comes with a short charger cord, but no brick. Fine by me if it keeps the prices down, since the last thing most of us need is another charger we wont use anyway. update - after playing with both - i can say they dont sound completely “identical” but very, very close.. if I absolutely HAD to compare them, to my ear - the mini 2 sounds like the bass might be a little better, and the mini 3 sounds like the mids/highs are slightly improved. this might just be due to the speaker grill being slightly different.. they are so close in sound, I wouldn’t even let that make my decision. i think the the most relevant feature is the different charger plug. i personally dont care about custom EQ’s and different presets. its one more headache not needed in my life, so its staying on their default sound setting. I’m not trying to pair 2 speakers, or 20 together with each other, so thats another non issue for me.. my advice would be to let the charger plug decide. if your stuff at home is using a micro USB - then go with the MINI 2.. if your using a type C - then get the MINI 3 and eleimiate an additional cord. the sizes of the overall speakers is almost identical - no real difference that would EVER be a consideration. ive used the mic on both for Bluetooth calls a couple times, nobody ever complained about not being to hear me.. i think the $10 cases are worth buying also.. these speakers are so small you know they are gonna get tossed around, so unless you dont care about scratching them up, i think its a worthy investment. hopefully this helps someone else decide. Another edit months later - i use this speaker in my work truck almost every day, and it does everything i need from it, and it does it well. Its plenty loud enough to overcome the noise from a big diesel truck. I use it to listen to audio books, videos, the phone’s gps, and take calls as I’m driving. Its honestly a GREAT speaker. The little lanyard/handle on the mini 3 has also been a useful for me. I use that to hang the speaker from the sun visor in the cab of my big work truck (GMC C8500 series), and it lets the speaker hang and swing back and forth slightly as I drive. This way its not jumping and rattling around in the cup holder (this is a very rough riding vehicle) and taking up that space for my drink. I pull the sun visor out (as if I’m going to turn it against the drivers window) hook the little lanyard on the visor’s peg/hinge and then clip it back into place. Its been great for taking calls as i have to drive. Another great feature is the auto shutoff. If i leave the truck to go work, the speaker will shut itself off after a fair amount of time of not being used and the phone is not in the cab. The $10 case i bought for it is also invaluable. I carry a backpack will all the little things a person needs these days, and i can just throw the speaker inside with 2 tablets, chargers, battery, pill bottles, drinks, ect - and never have to worry about the speaker getting scratched or accidentally getting turned on. The battery life has been great too. I can go a couple days without needing to charge it back up with my limited use during the daytime. The mic on it works well also. I raise my voice (obviously) knowing I’m in a loud truck, and with the speaker hanging from the visor (acting like it has its own little suspension) its kept about head level and you can actually have a conversation with someone. What would be really cool - is if this speaker came with a treaded socket somewhere - that let you use a suction cup mount (like a ram mount) to mount it on the windshield or dash if you wanted to. Its small enough to allow you to do that (if it had that feature) and not obstruct your vision. All things considered - this has been a great purchase. I use the mini 2 at home when i need a small speaker as well, and just purchased (havent received yet) some Anker Bluetooth earbuds as well - just to get the last item I’m carrying around onto the USB type C plug. Absolutely - do NOT hesitate to buy this speaker. If i lost it today, I’d order another one tomorrow... Another edit - ive been so impressed by Anker’s products i now own many of them. The Mini 2, Mini 3, the ‘upgraded’ Boost, the Motion Plus, the Life A2 NC earbuds, the Liberty 2 Pro earbuds (absolutely amazing sound, best ive ever tried), one of their power banks with the Nano charger, and stand up style wireless charger for my Samsung s8 phone (that even charges through my magpul case without having to make 5 attempts to find the ‘sweet spot’) that i refuse to upgrade. ALL of their products ive found to be very impressive. My Top pick for their speakers (of the ones i own) is EASILY the “upgraded” Boost speaker.. Sounds even better than the larger Motion Plus to be honest. Its so impressive, i bought another for my father and had it delivered to his house. He immediately bought a 2nd for himself and uses them paired together (this is a guy who owns at least a dozen different premium brand headphones). For its size - i dont think youll find anything better without spending some serious money (over $200 or more). Their app to adjust the custom EQ settings (which i still refuse to use for the mini 3 for what i use it for) is a real bonus for a dedicated music listening speaker. The motion plus gets a little louder - but the upgraded Boost (which is much smaller and cheaper) sounds better way better at normal listening volume. Anker really has me sold on their stuff. If you want earbuds and catch the Liberty 2 Pro’s to go on sale for $99 - or dont mind spending $150 - HIGHLY recommended. Happy shopping. Edit again - a year later. Everything i own from Anker still works like the day i got them. Admittedly some thing (since i own multiple different models) dont see frequent use - but every time i pick them up they work, charge, play, ect.. i cant say enough good things about the mini 3 speaker, the “upgraded boost” speaker, and the liberty 2 pro earbuds. Those 3 things should satisfy every niche for the average grown up. (A small single travel speaker, a small (relatively speaking) stereo speaker with huge sound and impressive bass, and the best sounding Bluetooth earbuds ive ever heard or owned. Combine the liberty 2 pro earbuds with amazon’s prime music ultra hd sound, and the soundcore app - and I’m talking CRYSTAL CLEAR highs, mids, and deep bass. Mind blowing sound from something so small. I find myself almost waiting for Anker to come out with something new just so i consider buying it. Lol. Their wireless charger base works every time i put my phone down on it still, even through the case. I have their nano charger too and it works great. Noticeable difference between that and my quick charge bricks. If i didnt say it before - i also own their larger motion plus speaker - and if your on the fence between that and the upgraded boost model - save a few $ and get the upgraded boost. It just has a much nicer sound and is still way louder then youd ever expect. Its capable of Uncomfortable volumes for an adult listener in a room while still not crapping out. You wont be sorry with any of those purchases. Yet another edit NOT for this product. - its been a while - my new love is the JBL flip 6. Better then the upgraded soundcore boost if anyone is comparing - but it costs more, so it should be better. These speakers are getting pretty crazy for their size….. ... show more

  • Amazing Speaker For Travel
Color: Black
I recently had a pretty high end travel speaker stop working and love the Soundcore Motion Boom speakers we have, so started researching options Soundcore offered. Even though this speaker is tiny, for the cost, thought I’d give it a try. First off, the form factor is pretty amazing. It’s smaller than a soda can, so tossing it in a bag takes up very little space. It also has a strap on it, which makes carrying or attaching it to something super easy. All the play controls are located at the bottom and require presses hard enough it’s not going to come on or do something you don’t want it to. Located on the bottom, is a sticky suction like pad to keep it from moving around. This works really well for keeping it in place. In terms of charging, it uses USB C which is great, as it is becoming the standard everything uses to charge. It also charges quickly and has a status light to indicate it’s charging and when it turns off that it is fully charged. Battery life is also great and even at loud volumes lasts a long time. In terms of sound quality, don’t expect you are going to get any crazy base. However, the sound quality does fill a room easy at half volume. If you really raise the volume, it can get a bit distorted but is not really a factor for how I use it. There is also a companion app for your phone. I’d highly recommend downloading this, as you can adjust equalizer settings, power off time out, and turn it off via your phone. Overall this is a fantastic little speaker for the money and I’m looking forward to taking this on all the trips. ... show more

  • Not a ton of quality at high volume
Color: Black
Full sound, long battery, easy to connect to phone. It might be worth spending a bit more for a bit more quality. Things you learn. Decent and we are using outdoors.
