I love everything about this little speaker! It keeps a charge for a really long time, it’s super small & I love the strap that I can configure to what I need in the moment. But it’s not very loud, even when I have my phone turned up all the way and this turned up all the way, it’s only loud enough when you’re within a few feet of it. I can still hear it on the other side of our above ground round pool, but wish it was louder. I also bought a bigger JBL portable speaker & it gets plenty loud, but has a short battery life & no handle. You also can’t play while it’s charging until it’s about 3/4 charged. With this one I don’t have that issue at all. It was perfect at the beach when we’re sitting right next to it, but someone laying three people away it wasn’t quite loud enough. So I guess it depends upon your purpose. I do love the color (I got the blue) and I like how it’s got a rubbery bottom so it won’t slides across the table or whatever I put it on. It’s also pretty durable, having been dropped & lugged around in my backpack while traveling for a couple of weeks. ... show more

The sound from this small speaker is quite impressive and clear. It has surpassed my expectations. The clarity of vocals and amount of bass is surprising. When sitting on a hard surface, the bass actually made the speaker bounce causing an audible rattle. I put a soft coaster under it to stop the bounce and solved the issue. It is not overly loud but I was not expecting it to be an arena-filling sound. Exactly what I wanted for a small portable speaker I can travel with for music in the office. FOLLOW UP: I have been using this now for 2 days. I can say in my usage at maybe 1/3 - 1/2 volume, it has been operating for over 20 hours. I am very pleased with this little speaker. ... show more

    • Better than decent sound in a small, portable, water proof speaker!
I’ve purchased three of these Sony SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speakers. The sound quality is better/louder than an Apple HomePod mini. It is NOT a smart speaker though, I just want to compare the audio performance. The bass is subjective due to placement of the speaker. This speaker sounds best on a flat, smooth, wooden surface AWAY from walls. This helps amplify the bass. It’s so small that it can’t physically produce all that bass alone. There’s a reason why these units sound so much better at their in store displays! It will still sound ok if you have it hanging from its included strap but don’t expect it to sound the same as if it were sitting on an ideal surface, especially the bass. The media could not be loaded. If you are a person who wants a speaker for the shower, listening to music in bed, or listening to music while doing something at home (which does not require the speaker to be very far away) this is for you, I have also used it outside and if I put it close to me the audio is heard perfect. Do not think that you are going to surprise your friends with a high volume, but with the quality of the sound, the bass and how good it looks. Its materials feel of quality, the battery lasts a long time, very easy to connect to the phone, it charges quickly with a 5v to 2,000mah charger, the strap is very comfortable to carry the speaker. If you want more volume to party and attract attention outside, you have to buy a big speaker, if you listen to music by yourself, it's perfect. ... show more
