When one of our cats began to get a little too supersized we inquired with our vet about what we should do before she became a blimp cat. We mentioned we were using another Solid Gold product and just left a full bowl out for the cats to eat when they wanted. This particular cat like to graze a bit too much. So the vet advised since we used the Solid Gold cat food to try this one as it had less calories and still fell within a line which this cat had tolerated. We went to scheduled feedings and gave our chunky cat this product and combined with some additional daily planned play time (exercise) she lost 8 pounds and now is much better shape moving around and playing like she is a kitten again. Expensive but cats like it and they all get the zoomies now. Their poop is not dried out from the crack carbs FF, I was feeding them. Hope it helps shed some weight off.

My male cat was around 18 pounds when we switched over his food - we were using pretty much the cheapest cat food available so meow mix and such. As a college student, this cat food is pretty expensive but it was worth it because over 4-6 months of using the weight control formula my cat lost a bit over 4 pounds and he looks completely different. We did pair this with exercise from having a new kitty in the house to play with, but the food seemed to make a pretty big different. They don’t seem to notice any difference in flavor, and eat it just like they did their old cat food. He loved the taste and when they would get fed.. He had a bad liver since a young age so we thought, oh he's just gonna pass one day.. but a few weeks on this food hid health declined even more. We didn't think much of it.. we had to euthanize him as it got way too much; he stopped eating, drinking, moving, couldnt use the bathroom, was very dizzy and lost as to where he was and so much more. We showed the vet the food we fed him.. and they let us know this is a REALLY bad food. (Not the same vet that euthanized him) It shut down his liver, kidneys and his breathing got worse. He kept vomiting bright green/blue everywhere until we finally found a vet that was in. We have been feeding them this food for a few months. And my elder cats are starting to show the signs Baby (name of cat) did as well. They should really pull this food off the market. Or check dates, ingredients, batch numbers. I lost a big chunk of my heart. I am so freaking broken. I would have never thought it was the food. The vet guided us and told me it isn't our fault. But it wasnt until after it was too late that we found out it was the food. Not even the vet we took Baby to to get euthanized told us. We went to a different vet for our older cats.. This food is very crappy. Our hearts are broken. And this void will never be filled. They are the fur babies of human babies I cannot have. ... show more
