  • Powerful Zinc Alloy Protective TipThe hard conical zinc alloy protective tip is firmly fixed on the electrode of the soil tester, which makes it convenient for you to measure harder materials without worrying about the electrode being damaged(please make sure to install it when measuring soil/hard objects!).
  • LCD backlight & Temperature monitoringSoil pH test kit has a lcd backlit screen, which can be read in low light conditions, and the real-time temperature display helps you to make better judgments about the environment. In addition, the instrument also has data hold and alarm function, when ph<3.5 or ph>12, the screen will light up red backlight to remind you that you are currently in a strong acid or alkali environment.
  • UsageBefore the first measurement, it must be calibrated in the standard buffer solution with ph of 4.0, 7.0, 10.01 respectively, and after the measurement is finished, it should be filled with a little potassium chloride solution in the protective sleeve to keep the electrode moist. Regular good maintenance is a prerequisite for normal operation of the soil ph tester, please read the product manual carefully before use.

  • A more-professional solution
Color: Green
I have a lot of uses for a pH test kit - from garden to wine and vinegar making. This tool seems designed to handle the wide range I need. I have used various cheaper, quick solutions and not been satisfied with the results. That said, with increased functionality, one can expect a bit more work and knowledge to get the intended results. If you have done any pH testing you are already familiar with calibration needs and the solutions to perform the process, this uses the same principles; but the higher sophistication yields results that I feel were more accurate than I was getting with cheaper "easier" methods. The kit is well designed for long term use and easy to keep all the needed components on hand. I have never had a problem getting replacements for the solution packs, so using this kit correctly shouldn't poses any problems over the long term with good results. Very pleased. ... show more

  • Really nice Digital soil pH meter
Color: Orange
As other reviews have already stated, this pH probe kit comes complete with a case and every thing that you would need to make accurate pH measurements. I will be using it to measure garden soil pH. I first tested the pH meter to see if calibration was necessary. I already had fresh calibration buffer solutions ready to go, so I didn't need to mix the pH buffer packets that came with the probe kit. I was impressed that the pH meter, right out-of-the-box, measured all six of my buffer solutions either spot-on or with only a 0.1 deviation. I wanted to see how well this pH probe measured potting soil. So I filled half a red plastic cup with my seedling starter soil that has a pH of 5.9 to 6.2. I attached the soil blade that protects the probe and measured the dry, slightly compacted soil pH at 5.7 with this probe. I then put about 3oz of neutral RO water in the soil and this probe measured the pH at 6.1. I then took the water run-off and measured the pH at 6.0. I have been testing soil pH using the water run-off method for years... now I can just use a quick probe measurement after watering with a neutral RO water. This is going to make the science part of gardening much easier. ... show more

  • Not plug and play for a beginner
Color: Orange
Soil pH Meter, Tadeto Digital Soil Tester with Sensitive Probe and LCD -- I read some reviews from others who seem to be experienced with PH meters and they were satisfied. My review is written from the point of view of a beginner who has never touched a PH meter before. I got this for the purpose of testing garden soil. You are not going to open the box and use this instrument. It is a delicate instrument that can be damaged easily. It has to be calibrated and that is not simple. First off the miniature instruction booklet has tiny print. While the words are proper English the sentence structure and order sequence of instruction leave a lot to be desired. You need to read through the entire instructions to get the general picture of what it's describing. Then read through it again to figure out what you actually need to know in order to get it going. Then read the instructions again to put into proper order the steps of what you need to do. The calibration solutions do actually take about 30 minutes of stirring to dissolve the powder. If you can get it calibrated you can probably figure out how the display and functions work. I'm just a regular heathen and I figured it out, but I don't know about someone with an arts degree. The meter will serve my needs. ... show more

  • Fast and very accurate
Color: Orange
This pH tester can also be used for testing out water or even pool water to get very accurate results in about 30 seconds. For soil, it takes about a minute to stabilize once it is in the ground. The LCD display is big enough to read the measurements as well as a hold function that keeps the current reading so it can be recorded. The LCD display is also backlit as even reading in dark environments or taking night readings of the soil can be done with ease. It also gives the temperature of either soil or liquids that you are measuring and I use that as a stability measurement. When the temperature stops that is when I record the reading of both pH and temperature so I know exactly what was measured. It does come with a beefy soil prob blade that is very well made and has some weight to it. It also protects the glass probe from the soil or small rocks that might be in there and giving you are clear reading. ... show more

  • This is a complicated tool.
Color: Green
In this world of 'plug and play' everything, this item stopped me in my tracks. I am not going to say it doesn't work but the 'set up' is staggering! You have to calibrate it using some chemicals you mix before using. You must mix three 'buffer solutions', with PH's of 4.0, 7.0, and 10.01 !! Once the calibration is completed you have to keep the electrode bathed in potassium chloride solution to protect it. Frankly this soil tester seems more like a science project to me. Don't get me wrong, it has some value to the right user, but many will find this hard to set up and maintain. ... show more

  • You need some skill but worth it
Color: Orange
This is one of the coolest pieces of kit I’ve gotten for the garden and yard in a while. Are you are always wondering if your PH is causing your roses/lawn/flowers/garden/etc to die??? This piece of kit will answer those questions. You will need to read the instructions and booklet very closely to not mess it up. You mess up your reading and you can nuke your lawn really quick. Does it justify the price tag??? I think so because a large bag of fertilizer is almost the same price. I would spend that much to actually know how to proceed with my plants. Then you can get exactly what your soil needs to grow healthy grass etc. It doesn’t take rocket science to use but you need a basic understanding of buffers, solutions and how to get a good test sample. I love science so it was straightforward. My roses will be super happy now ... show more
