  • Gamer changer for indoor plants
I never thought I'd say this, but my plants are thriving, and I actually know why for once! 🌱 This little moisture meter has taken all the guesswork out of watering. No more overwatering my poor succulents or treating my ferns like they're in a desert (whoops). It’s super simple: just stick it in the soil, and boom—instant plant feedback. My houseplants have never looked happier, and I've officially retired my "let’s hope for the best" watering schedule. The best part? No batteries. Just straightforward plant science. Get this—your plants will thank you, and you can finally stop playing that fun game called, “Is my plant dead or just dramatic?” 💧🌿 ... show more

  • Great little tool!
I enjoy the simplicity of the product. The 4 different functions are sort of a happy bonus, since I'm not advanced enough in gardening to really understand why Ph is important, for example. it's quick, doesn't require batteries (unless i'm an idiot and it does - I suppose I'll find out when/if the battery dies!) for the price, it's simply a good, useful tool, and really helps me to know when it's time to HYDRATE! ... show more

  • Updated 2024 - pH readings wrong / Good Customer Service
UPDATE: The pH metering stopping giving me readings. I used in the Fall and it stopped working in Spring. I sanded it per instructions but didn't help. Customer service quickly got back to me and sent a replacement with some extra hints. I think I might have messed it up because you are only supposed to lightly sand the lowest piece of the probe - the tip - but I had lightly sanded the length of the probe. The extra instructions they sent said this - so save your sandpaper and don't overdo it like me and you should be able to enjoy using it for multiple seasons. ---- The meter does produce different results for different soils around the yard. I mainly wanted the pH part, the other stuff isn't super necessary for my needs but interesting nonetheless. The pH seems like it could be pretty correct as it does adjust slightly for soils I know are more acidic (due to the type of fertilizers I use.) My problem is that the range of pH anyone really needs for soil is liberally only between 4.5 - 8.5. If you have soil below or above these it really doesn't matter how much since it is so far off the chart of what is needed for anything other than highly specialized growing media. And if you were doing that you would have more sophisticated equipment. So the entire range of what I care about takes up very little space between 1 and 8 since everything I have is between 5.5 and 7.0 pH. It's impossible to see at this scale if you are at 5.8 or 6.2 or what. You just have a rough approximation that it is about 6 which isn't super helpful. Every 0.1 change in pH represents a 26% difference in acidity or alkalinity of the soil. This instrument should be fine tuned for a smaller range of the pH scale showing at least .5 unit steps. An annoyance is that the needle at rest, in no soil medium, is pretty much right over the 6.5/7 pH scale. So if you insert the probe into soil that is 6.5 the needle doesn't move causing you to think it doesn't work. Every time this happened to me I flipped the switch around and would see the needle react very quickly and so I know it was functioning but the resting needle should really have its own place as is the standard on almost every other instrument you can find. The probe itself seems well constructed. I pushed it deep into the ground and was able to pull it out pretty easily. I think if you put too much pressure on the meter head while pushing it in you might break it though. The box comes with a little square of sand paper you should not throw away. Eventually the probe will lose its measuring abilities from a little corrosion build up on the metal. A light sanding would refresh it. ... show more

  • Quality, function, price
We like the quality. Our old gauge broke while inserting in to soil. This one appears to be more durable. We like the different functions it a capable of reading especially the soil ph, moisture content and nutrients.

  • Quality
The instruments does not work very well. The scales are difficult to see and the push button is not the easiest to manipulate. Time will tell how accurate the readings are. I would not buy it again. M. Jolly

  • pH tester weak, everything else is perfect!
let's start with the bad, get it out the way. the pH test is barely better than useless. is only goes 1-8... a pH is measured on a scale of 1-14. 7 = neutral, 1-6.9 = acidic 7.1-14 = alkaline so, the most you'll get from the meter is weathers it's acidic or alkaline, nothing more... & the way the needle lays, you won't be able to tell if it's truly neutral. its horribly designed, especially for people who live in areas with very alkaline running water & rain. now that's out the way, the rest of the meter is fine. i tried it on a multitude of different soils for different plants. it does a good job reading the light, weather from the sun or artificial grow lights. it'll definitely help monitor moisture, & nutrients, improving your gardening skills. over all, consider if you have plants that are sensitive to alkaline conditions & if alkaline water is a common problem in your area before considering buying this product. ... show more

  • Works fine
My only wish is that it was a little easier to determine what my plants need. The booklet it comes with is a tad daunting and seems very geared toward the Asian continent type plants. I’m one of those who would rather have it say “Water Me” or “Give Me Fertilizer”.
