The bottom area of the inside is padded for comfort and the mesh on the sides and top make it easy for me to check on my cat without having to unzip anything. The front and top opening make it easy to put her inside - she can either walk in from the front or I can lower her in through the top. I loved my first carrier, but when I saw the larger one I decided to upgrade. We travel a lot with our cat Lily and the larger carrier gives her a little more space to move around. It has all of the same awesome features like: * Top Load * Side Door * Less Zippers than the first carrier * The backside is mesh also * There is still a pocket on the end of the carrier * The long strap is good as a shoulder strap, but also works to secure the carrier to the car seat * It has a mat just like the other one, with a removable sleeve for easy cleaning. * The mat is two-sided one side is wooly and the other side is the same material as the carrier ... show more

My cat is large. He weighs 16 lbs. I don't think I could stuff him down the top opening. But I did get him in from the side and he fit fine with room left over. He was not able to claw through the webbing. I was able to carry the carrier without any sagging.

I have an 11-week-old puppy and a 16 lb cat. This carrier works perfectly to transport them (separately) to the vet. They are able to see well out of it so it isn't as scary for them as being in a "box" that they can't see out of. I originally purchased the Medium sized carrier for my cat. I returned it and purchased the Large size, however he is still too long for the carrier. He sits comfortably with his paws tucked under, he just isn't lounging or standing up in it. Other than my cat being too big (he is a big guy!) I really love the carrier and so does he. He didn't make a fuss to get into it and seemed more comfortable than the hard shell carrier. It's easy to carry and clean if needed. It's also fashionable which is a plus ;) ... show more

This carrier looks comfortable and I was excited to get it but it is not big enough for my 16lb cat. It shouldn't say that it is suitable for large cats. I had to return it.

So, what I really like about this carrier is it was wider than most; and even though it is technically a “soft” carrier, it is very sturdy. The sides do not cave in and the bottom is sturdy and plush. Cat pictured is a big boy, 17 pounds. He curled up once inside and had plenty of room. It was a little higher than my other soft carriers but not enough where he was even close to being able to sit up. You could get two small cats in here and they would be comfortable. I considered giving it 4 stars because the material and mesh is thin; but it is a low-priced carrier, and I think a very good buy for the money ... show more

Great replacement for the hard shell carriers we used to have. Some thoughts: Much lighter than plastic and easy to open / close from multiple angles for cat insertion. The shoulder strap is a bit awkward but it makes carrying around the city without a car much easier than it would be without. It's maybe slightly smaller than I thought it would be from the suggested cat dimensions, but it's soft and flexible (and the cat doesn't seem to mind). Durability isn't purrfect either: the hard floor with the carpeting is easy to bite and tear up around the edges. Those are nitpicks though, we're still happy with it. Bonus: our cat, who is terrified of any carrier, actually sleeps in this as a kind of cat-house when it's not in use. He's still terrified when it becomes a carrier again but hey, he can't have it all. He's a cat. ... show more
