  • This is awesome - works on old JVC TV, LG Blu Ray player, and Magnavox VCR all over 10 years old.
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
We cut the cord, so we no longer had that universal remote from the cable company. I have been using the Fire TV remote to select programs, press play/pause, but any time I needed to change volume, change the source input, or power the TV, I had to use the old beat up JVC remote, which was starting to not work. I also have an old Magnavox VHS player and LG Blu Ray player. I had 4 remotes I barely used. This thing is awesome and fun to program. I programmed the main buttons for volume, mute, source input, and power to the JVC TV. I used the rest of the buttons for the most commonly used buttons on the other 2 machines. You can make any button correspond to another button on the other remotes from what I can tell. It works great so far. It won't eliminate the other buttons completely, but I can put away 3 remotes on a regular basis and only use them if I plan to rewind or record a VHS tape, which, c'mon, how often do we bust out home movies from the 90's, these days? Everyone I know with a Fire TV is getting this for Christmas. ... show more

  • Easy to Setup, Works like a Charm
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
This is my second purchase of this product. The first one had clasps that broke after much abuse. I was easily able to setup a Pioneer TV for On/Off, a Vizio Soundbar for Volume Up/Down/Mute and use the Amazon Fire Remote seamlessy to control it all. Fantastic!

  • *Was* great addition to a fire remote - but will definitely break
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
I found this product super easy to install and set up. You need the old remote to learn each of the buttons, which it does quite easily. I do wish it had a couple more standard buttons on it, like "input", since that is an obvious one that is used when launching Amazon's Fire Streaming device. For that reason, I am knocking off one star. Also, time will tell just how fragile the device is, as other reviewers mention that it tends to break when dropped. For that reason, I am admittedly being overly cautious with it. However, I know it is just a matter of time before it drops onto my wood floors, so I guess I will find out and update this review accordingly. That said, it maintains the same sleek shape/style of the Amazon Fire Stick - just extending it several inches. I really like that I don't need 2 separate remotes anymore. UPDATE: the other reviewers were correct. The remote is flimsy and definitely doesn’t hold up. The side plastic edge that connects the TV controller section to the fire stick section snapped - simply under the pressure of pressing the TV controls over time. Therefore, I am literally back to 2 remotes again. Great idea, but flimsy execution. Lasted 10 months in a room that has very light TV usage. Tried to reach out to seller, but cannot find a way to do so. Amazon customer service is unable to help b/c it is outside the return window. ... show more

  • Very good product, and contains every feature you would like, but hard to set up
The documentation is basic and shows what is needed, but you need to work with this for a week or more in order to set up every feature. I took off one star for not having a keypad - kinda necessary for DirecTV and the like. The ability to sync the APP to the Remote is buried and not easy to find. When you make a single change to a feature like Power on/off on one of your devices, it DOESN'T automatically sync that change. It took me several days of working with it to get those little changes done. Also, I would recommend that if you have an AVR like I do to place custom features like volume to the default buttons on the remote (or you will have to toggle to the device menu all the time). OVERALL, it is the ONLY device that can allow you to program older devices like a DVDR or VCR along with current devices. It also has 3 IR transmitters that can be placed in a Stereo cabinet and in front of a Large Screen TV - which I needed. I think it is overpriced since it has no keypad to allow channel entries - it does have individual numbers, but times out way to fast to put in 9999 for example. ... show more

  • Made it fit my remote
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
Used with a Toshiba Fire TV. Not a Firestick, an actual Amazon TV, with firestick tech built in. That product doesn't use same size remote as firestick. So this add on remote doesn't fit. I dremeled off the clips, used heat gun to shape the plastic, then used double stick tape to glue remote to it. It works, but its a pain to change batteries, as have to pry it apart now. Sadly, this all could have been accommodated with more diligent design. Make add on remote with different size and shape spacers to work with any version of firestick remotes and fire tv remotes. Make the add on fit the largest of these remotes, and gap filling spacers for the each other iteration. Why are all firestick remotes a different shape in the first place? Sadly, only reason I even have to this is the rampant stupidity of the tv designers. It uses Bluetooth for all firestick functions, but uses IR for turning tv on and off. So remote as both types of tech. Yet there is no way config option to enable IR for functions like volume control. I have a Sonos soundbar, and it only works with IR remotes. Doesn't even have its own remote. All they'd need to do is have atv confof setting to also send an IR signal when pressing volume on remote. Any IR signal would work, as soundbars can learn. ... show more

  • Best extra buttons for fire TV stick
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
I've tried a few of these attachments. Despite making the remote really long, I still love it. The learning phase can be tricky but once it learns the button it works from any angle and the press and hold functions work accurately unlike others.

  • Extra remote without having an extra remot
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
Attaches easily to the FireTV remote. Plenty of buttons to go around. I am able to control both my TV and its inputs and power, but also my surround sound stereo volume and mute. Not having to get out 3 remotes. Especially since my surround sound unit is older, and has separate on/off controllers. Learns the unit's remote quickly and easily. I had no issues in programming this one. Simply start learning mode with the press of two buttons, then press the button you want to program, point the remote you're copying at this one, and voila'. It's sleek and feels good in the hands too. Attaches firmly and feels like part of the FireTV remote. Batteries are easily inserted/changed. ... show more
