  • hate bugs? summer sleeping bag that fully zips up/down, with mosquito netting for the face, nuf said
This product is kind of unique, as far as I have been able to find online. Honestly great value too! Positives: I wanted something that I could use in spring, summer, fall, not necessarily for warmth but to keep the creepy crawleys off of me when I sleep. This zips completely up, so rest easy about bugs getting in unless it is something tiny like maybe small mites? But the face has mosquito netting on it, so you can breathe easy. It also give the bag good overall good ventilation so it doesn't get too sweaty in there. It also zips completely down, if you want to use it as a sheet, or zipper it together and combine it with another sleeping bag. It was very roomy for me, but I am just 5ft tall. I like that it is also not a mummy-style bag, so I could kick my legs around in my sleep without feeling restricted. It is roomy enough that I could add a silk liner, or extra layers if the weather turns cold. But it is light enough that I could use it up to 80F and I think I would be comfortable. It also has a thoughtful little zippered pocket on the inside front around chest or tummy height. Great for storing glasses or a cellphone while you sleep. Negatives: The mosquito netting is not very stiff, so it easily flops down onto your face when sleeping. This could be solved by adding a wire shaper into the mosquito netting, but that would make it more difficult to pack into the compression bag. Instead, wearing a baseball cap or bringing something into your sleeping bag like a large water bottle to prop the mosquito netting up and off the face, might be a solution. The material is fairly tough but thin. This means it is light and less hot, but it is not made of mithril, so keep your expectations realistic. I am uncertain how durable it will be in the long run. The stitching has held up well for a year of mild if regular use. Thankfully, the sleeping bag is cheap as chips, so if it does tear, I wouldn't mind much. This is not suitable for serious winter conditions or extreme environments. You want to be a little careful with the zipper. It isn't as bad as many zippers I have had to deal with, but if you just carelessly zip it, it might catch on the material. I do like that you can unzip the zippers from the inside or outside though, and you have the choice of what side you want the zipper on when buying it. You really have to muscle the sleeping bag back into the compression bag. It will fit in there, but I was huffing a puffing for a good 20min. to get it in there with my flabby arms. But I imagine that's the case with all compression bags, and honestly it is nice they included one, since once you get it in there, it really is a conveniently small and light package. ... show more

  • Temp rating not accurate.
"Comfort temperature rating is 45 degrees Fahrenheit, low rating is 36 degrees Fahrenheit" You will be severely uncomfortable at 45 degrees in this bag. Comfort rating is more like 65 comfort and low rating of 55 degrees. Most likely would freeze to death if used for the manufacturers low rating of 36 degrees Fahrenheit. It would make a great warm spring, summer, or warm fall bag. ... show more

  • Cheap, warm, and light
I picked this because I've used the Snugpack Jungle Bag before and really liked it. This is basically the same thing in a different color but it's significantly cheaper. Other than the color, it has all the same features I loved about the Jungle Bag. It's light, it packs up small, it has a mosquito net that covers the face (or you can unzip the net if you don't want to use it), the zippers are sturdy and work smoothly, and for its weight, it's pretty warm. This and a bivy keeps me very cozy. Adding a cheap fleece sleeping bag liner can also help on cooler nights. ... show more

  • Affordable, lightweight sleeping bag that is perfect for layering
This is a great light weight sleeping bag for nights when it is not too cold. My husband and I each got one to take on our bikes when we cycle tour. We also got the jungle blanket if it got a little extra cold so that we can take only one of them if we need to or both, rather than having a heavy sleeping bag that might be too warm. We are very happy with this product! I really like the Snugpak brand and the feel of the materials. ... show more

  • Compact and comfy.
I absolutely love this bag. I have another Snugpak "mummy style" bag which is about 4 times as large as this one when compressed and sleeps a lot hotter as a result. The Travelpak takes up much less room and makes it ideal for kayak camping since all of my sleeping gear can now fit into the same dry bag for storage and transportation. I'd probably want to use the larger Snugpak bag for temps in the 40's °F or below, or carry along a wool blanket to use with this one. I hardly see those temps where I live so this makes a great 3-season sleeping bag for me. ... show more

  • Solid
Good company, good product. The mesh bug screen is a little annoying, in that I rarely need it and it doesnt like to stay in its stowaway pocket, but other than that this bag is perfect as a lightweight, mild weather bag.
