Edit: I have received my second machine and this one is much better, it also sounds a bit different too. I love the Wi-Fi scheduling feature of it, so it makes ice in the morning for my ride to work, and shuts off for the day, and then turns back on before I get home and I already have some fresh ice made. It has proper power regulation now, and it is less likely than the first one to trick itself into being full, but if you leave it for about 2 hours, without moving the ice around, the ice sticks, and stacks against the wall and blocks itself. I have changed my review from a 2 star to 5 star now, my original review is below: This nice machine makes ice pretty quickly, but will quickly trick itself into thinking it’s full, because the ice will stack up on the slide down into the basket rather than evenly into the basket. You have to constantly be using it and moving the ice around for it to really hold a lot of ice and keep going…. BUT if you let it keep going for too long it will overheat and start to burn and smell like burning plastic. I have it hooked up to a smart outlet to measure the wattage, and it’s says it’s rated for 150W but will often times spike well above 200W, which is not normal of electrical equipment if their functioning normally. 33% energy spikes can indicate an issue with electrical components. I having mine replaced through the return policy, hopefully the replacement works out better. ... show more

I purchased this icemaker in an attempt to save money on constantly re-purchasing replacement water filters for our refrigerator. My husband uses a lot of ice for his cooler during the summer months while he’s working. Therefore also leaving us without any ice to use for our drinks. this icemaker has been one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. it’s unbelievably fast, so he’s able to fill a medium sized cooler daily. saving us money on filters, and also saving ice for the family to use during the day. since owning this new appliance we now have sufficient ice supply and demand at all times for our large family of 6.. it’s also extremely easy to use, especially since I have it set up right next to my kitchen sink. I only have to pull out the Faucet head and fill it up to its indicated line. don’t overfill it, Machine will provide poor quality ice if you do so. it’s been in nearly constant use 24 hours, 7 days a week now for the past 2 months, and holding up extremely well. Still working like new! it’s compact,quiet, also very sleek and modern looking. complements my kitchen nicely. With the cost of water filters alone, I calculate that this icemaker will pay for itself within four months. Worth every penny, highly recommended! ... show more

It was tone to stop being frustrated with our broken refrigerator ice maker. Even though there are only 3 of us in the house our college age daughter loves her ice water and I enjoy home made Boba teas. The Wi-Fi connectivity is a real bonus. I bought this to replace an aging ice maker. My old, 10+ year old ice maker runs circles around this thing. First off, the first several batches of ice that this makes are TINY. They do get slightly large with each subsequent batch, but even on Large, the ice cubes are still far, far smaller than my other ice maker makes. Then, this thing takes FOREVER to make a decent batch of ice. The attached picture shows how much ice you end up with after an hour of ice making. And compare how much ice is in the bin of my old ice maker on the right, with this tiny thing on the left. Again, my old ice maker can pretty much fill it's much larger tray in the same amount of time. Finally, the ice bin is much smaller than my old one and it stops making ice when the bin is only about 3/4 full. So in summary, it makes tiny cubes, it only makes enough to fill about a 32 oz mug and it takes nearly 2 hours just to make that much. No clue how this thing gets 5 stars from anyone. I suppose if you are the only one using it and you don't use much ice per drink, it'd be fine, but for my family who likes to fill their 32 oz mugs with ice one after the other, this thing gets a big nope from us. ... show more

I, like many other reviewers, wanted use the machine for a while before reviewing. I bought this ice maker to replace an Igloo counter top ice maker I had and used for about 5 years that had recently died. The thing was on it's last leg for a while, having to have a hard-restart to function, constantly saying the ice basket was full when there was no ice.. No surprise it died. After having and using this DAILY for about a month now, I am SO pleased with it! It is super reliable, works as it should, and is extremely convenient. The thing that made this ice maker stand out against the rest was the wifi capabilities! It is super convenient to be able to schedule the ice to be made every morning in time for my iced coffee, or to turn it on from work so it's ready when I get home. I was slightly bummed when I first received it in the mail and the directions said it needed to sit on the counter with the lid open for a few hours before operating bc I wanted to start using it asap! But, I figured this was to maybe "air it out" and keep the ice from having any type of plastic smell. I followed the directions, set up the wifi and it has worked like a charm ever since!
