First one I've ever bought im so impressed. It's good handle length, strong ice breaking capability. So much better than just a shovel. I'm really glad I purchased it was surprised how well it works. First it is light weight. I like that. Second, some people may not like this, bit I am short. It's size is comfortable for me at my 5 foot 2 in height. It is durable. I have had it since 2021 and it is still in great shape aside from where my dogs chewed the rubber of the handle. The blade is still in great shape with no putting and no rusting.     • Great Blade, But Awkward to Use
Living my entire life on the USA / Canada border, I have used by share of ice choppers. The Snow Joe ice chopper is well made, and the spring handle is a useful nice feature. The ice chopper has a good blade, and can be used to scrape any remaining ice off sidewalks after chopping. All good so far. However IMO the handle is too short, requiring the user to bend awkwardly when chopping ice. Besides being uncomfortable, the too short handle causes a “loss” of chopping force. So in my opinion, despite the above positive features . . . . a long handle ice chopper would be a better option than the Snow Joe for serious users. ... show more

    • Handy tool during the winter season
A friend of mine recommended this to me personally and I have to say, it’s been a Godsend when needed. Living in the east coast you never know what the weather will bring. I used this handy tool in an apartment complex that was responsible for their own shoveling and clearing of the drive and walk way. My car started skidding while pulling out of a parking spot. I pulled this out to break up the ice to allow my car to gain traction which was fast, quick and easy, and then back on the road I went. The quality of this is solid and sturdy.
