I purchased two of these to pair them. I only needed two, so they didn't come already paired. At first they wouldn't pair, so I read the entire instruction manual, which is small but detailed. I decided to do the unpair instructions to both of them. Then I did the pair instructions and they paired immediately. Easily installed them and ran all the tests. They passed. These were easy to install and seem to work great with one exception: they seem to be set off by steam from the shower in the bathroom that has one installed in the hall outside. I don't know about the science behind it, but I don't understand how shower steam can set off a smoke/CO2 detector.

After the Houston Hurricane we lived of a generator for power for 5 days. Just as the power came back on our the detector went off to notify us of excessive carbon monoxide. I bought a pack of five or six for my parents new Adu, which is next door to my house. I liked the idea that they were interlinked so that I could have one in my house also and know if their alarms were going off. They're both elderly so I wanted to make sure I would be alerted also to any issues. After about 2 months one of the ones in the kitchen malfunctioned. So I took it down and replaced it with one of the extras that I had ordered. Then another couple months later another one malfunctioned. Every couple months, it would happen with the remaining ones. There was no smoke and no CO2 detected, they were just malfunctioning. It's past the return date so now I have to buy another brand and set of interlinking smoke\ CO2 detectors ... show more
