I purchased these for campfires since they're water based and don't leave a toxic substance; just to make sure stubborn embers don't flare up in the middle of the night The safety tabs remove (and can be placed back) easily...and you just squeeze to initiate. There isn't a large amount of water. It's not a magic bottle that will put out a forest fire. Recently when working in my garage a neighbor had smoke coming from their AC unit. When I looked closer it was a 4 foot fire right behind their AC. The fire was some type of trash they packaged up. I quickly grabbed two of these and proceeded to sweep the base of the fire. Recently started a small kitchen fire and was able to get it out with some baking soda but decided to be prepared for different types of fires around the house. I bought the pack of them so I could use one to practice with at my backyard firepit. I would advise having a few of these around the house. These fire extinguishers put our all classes of fires, ABCD & K. They are bigger than some of the smaller fire extinguishers I've seen. They seem pretty easy to use and are bright red. I really liked the strong velcro tape that came with the holder. I put them in a place that has brick walls. I didn't want to drill into the brick, so I tried the tape that came with it. It's wide and I've had no issues with the fire extinguisher moving at all while mounted on the wall. It feels very secure. These would also be a good choice for a car. They are no replacement for a large fire extinguisher, which everyone should have at home. But as extra fire extinguishers just to grab, you get 2+ holding brackets for a good price. ... show more

Contrary to the specifications of the product, this is NOT suitable for Class C fires. In the US, Class C is designated as "Live Electrical Equipment", and this water based product states the Breaker needs to be shut off. It is important to note that different regions of the world have different letter ratings. Since I picked these up to keep around my fire pit, I am not so concerned about using on electrical fires. I have dry extinguishers for the kitchen and workshop, which is what you should use for electrical fires. For safety reasons, I would really like to reduce the rating of this further, but to be fair, the instructions do state to deenergize electrical equipment. Though I don't agree with the deceptive marketing, these do seem like decent enough extinguishers for Class A, B, and K, though I have not tested them yet. The safety tabs are relatively easy to remove and the lightweight design will make operation easy. If you are looking for a fire extinguisher that is safe to use with electrical, I would recommend looking somewhere else. If wood or fuel fires are your main concern, these will probably work fine, though I have not personally tested them. ... show more
