I have been using Smashbox Primer for years. I apply a this layer of it all over my face then apply my foundation. My foundation looks flawless if I used the primer. I think it is expensive but I can't go without it! If you are looking for a great primer try this one from Smashbox

I struggle with extremely oily eyelids and hooded eyes. I've always loved eyeshadow, but I could never really enjoy any looks I put on because they simply just MELT into the folds after literally 2 hours. I pretty much gave up on the idea of having fancy eyes for a long time. Not fun. But I went down a rabbit hole of eyeshadow primer reviews on YouTube and found a lady who also had very oily hooded eyes, this was the top of her list so I decided to give it a shot. OH MY GOD I CAN DO EYESHADOW AGAIN!! I don't have to wipe the color lines that build up or bring eyeshadow to work to reapply! This picture was taken 15 hours after applying makeup. Still getting the hang of doing eyeshadow again, but I'm so excited to actually be able to do it and not have to worry about it melting. 10/10 Be sure to let it air dry for a bit after application before putting eyeshadow on, I like to just close my eyes so there's no fold and fan my face for about a minute. Very grateful that I found this. I'm going to go buy a fancy color palette now that I can be creative with my eyes ... show more

The orginal product is great and very smooth. This product is like using that old icing that was around in the late 70's - 80's. Very paste like. It's pretty decent when you add a few tiny drops of water to it and let it dry completely before using makeup

    • No more greasy eyelids!
I have tried most everything on the market, and this is the only product that keeps my eyelids from turning into greasy lids. I actually put it on at night after I clean my face and it last till I take my makeup off the next day.!

Let me start out by saying I’m 70, my use of makeup has lessened over the years…I’ve discovered that less is more. Especially on me, eye shadow does not look good on crepey eyelids. Anyway, SmashBox Photo Finish Intensify 24-Hour Eyeshadow Primer really works well on keeping your eye liner looking fresh all day. I’ve also found that it works well for concealing pores. After applying my serums and tinted sunscreen, I use a minute amount of SmashBox EyeShadow Primer on my eyelids & T-area, and then apply my eye liner. Instead of a heavy foundation, I apply a tinted primer, blush, touch up my brows & setting spray. And that’s it…a little mascara and I’m good for the whole day. That sounds like a lot, but it takes me less than 20 minutes, and the look is fresh and dewy…not overdone. ... show more
