  • Put in new room addition
Size: 48"x100ft
We put in a room addition off our kitchen.. the new room has no ac vents. It just gets cool air from the main kitchen with ceiling fan the room stays cool and comfortable. Just degrees warmer than main house. Hope it keeps it warm in the winter. We’ll see…

  • It really helps.
Size: 24"x50ft
I’m adding this to my west facing garage door. These pictures are side by side comparisons of a door that I haven’t done yet and a door that I have completed. Almost a 40 degree difference. This is really going to help my house!

  • 10 degree difference in my camper!
Size: 48"x 50' ( WHITE)
Great success! In 100 degree weather, my camper inside went from 80 to 70.

  • Very easy to work with
Size: 48"x 50' ( WHITE)
I was skeptical that this product would have decent insulation efficiency at only 5 mm thick but it really does better than fiberglass insulation, I used it to wrap my 8” metal ducts under my house (remember to not wrap the duct tightly cause a air gap is crucial for high efficiency) It’s also nice that you have no fiberglass itch or respiration issues in a 48” roll it applies quickly with less tape with one roll I covered 52’ including the distribution box. ... show more

  • Perfect for My Crawlspace Application
Size: 48"x100ft
I applied this to the bottom of my floor joists as part of a project to reduce "stack effect" which causes moist air from the crawlspace to be drawn up into the living space of the house, negatively effecting indoor air quality and other things. SmartSHIELD insulation incorporates a vapor barrier along with the foam insulation and the radiant heat barrier making it well suited for this application. ... show more

  • Added Protection
Size: 48"x 50' ( WHITE)
Wanted to add a little more insulating barrier in our over the garage attic west wall to ward off the heat of the afternoon sun here in Georgia and this did the trick. Easy to cut and staple up in place.

  • Seam tape doesn't stick to polypropylene white side. Peels off in 2 weeks.
Size: 48"x100ft
Be careful what seam tape is used on polypropylene white side. Aluminum tape stuck for 2 weeks then peeled off. Tyvec tape works much better, but some has peeled too after months on. Got red seam tape with acrylic pressure glue to seal seams but don't know how long tape seals will hold behind the drywall. Once tape seal fails, insulation effectiveness is ruined... water vapor & cold/hot air will infiltrate right around the loose edges. Aluminum tape holds great on the aluminum foil side. Next time, if ever, I'll buy with aluminum foil on both sides. Or, I will roll out so aluminum foil side is exposed and taped (might hold longer). Be careful removing tape... the poly film and aluminum foil film sticks to the tap and peels the film off of the foam layer. I couldn't find any information/advice from the ad or the seller/manufacturer what type seam tape to use. ... show more

  • helped decrease the summer temperature of an uninsulated garage
Size: 48"x 50' ( WHITE)
I applied ~ 200 linear ft. of this thermal barrier to my un-insulated garage between summer 2000 and summer 2001. It has helped decrease the heat gain and allowed me to work in the garage much more. First--this is really a thin thermal barrier and not insulation in the conventional sense. Reflective side out reflects the sunlight/heat and prevents heating the garage. (it also means that the garage is colder in the winter--doesn't gain heat-- unlike real insulation which would help keep the heat in in the winter)--not a problem where I live. having said that applying to the inside of the garage door with double sided tape--something you couldn't do with real insulation--, plus stapling between exposed studs, plus creating a roll-up "drape" between half of the garage has made the garage noticeably cooler in the summer. Before applying this reflective barrier, even with a portable air conditioner, if the outside temperature was above 85 degrees, inside the garage was unbearable. After applying this reflective barrier, WITH the portable air conditioner, the garage temp is below 80 degrees even when it's up to 100 degrees outside. ... show more
