We have another heat wave coming in CA so I purchased this product to help keep the heat out. Instead of using aluminum foil over the windows, I wanted something more practical and that can be reused when summer is over. I already have blinds and room darkening insulated curtains. While it does keep it cooler in the house, one side of my house gets the sun during the hottest part of the day - my kitchen and part of my living room wall. On an 80 degree day, the surface temp on that wall is 130 degrees. While the surface temp was 130 degrees, the insulated window was registering at 74 degrees. The pros from day 2 of covering all the windows: it’s 91 degrees and the AC didn’t turn on until almost 4 pm. It stayed under 75 in the house until then. As you can see from one of the pictures, it still allows some light even though it’s placed behind closed blinds and room darkening insulated curtains. But it’s still pretty dark in the house. The cons: It’s pretty dark in the house and my husband who can’t see in the dark will now have a legit reason to turn on all the lights - all day long, lol. Minus one star as the listing states the product is 48” in height and 50 feet long. As you can see, it measures just a little over 47”. I saw another review about this as well on a different sized roll they purchased. Not sure if it’s exactly 50 feet long bc we didn’t have to use the whole roll to cover all the windows. But keep this in mind when ordering. I covered 7 windows, 3 of which are 70” long, 4 that are 46” long, one entire sliding glass patio door (92” long) and still have plenty of roll left to use if needed. ... show more

First of all, I was very skeptical because it looked very thin. Now my husband and I are not experts but we measured out the garage and decided to do it. The garage is made out of wood so it doesn’t have any steel panels. It was pretty easy to cut and to assemble on the wall. We used to spray foam insulation, and it worked perfectly as listed on the photos. The temperature Used to be 106.7° now it’s reading 94.8°. Stoped air flow coming from attic. Not as thick as shown. But works great! Windows. Grow rooms. Seals!! Doors! I installed on my back door. Now back door is indoor temperature. But Instal on the out side of door. If your house is facing west. Keeps the heat out!

I wrapped my 100 gallon rubbermaid container that I use for cold plunging to insulate it. Adheres well with Gorilla Tape. Definitely has improved the holding temperature of the plunge! Worth the money!

I should have done this YEARS ago! We live in Southeast LOUISIANA. The majority of the back of our home is glass windows. Our home was anywhere between 74 and 80+ degrees everyday between 2pm and the sun setting. Since putting this on the windows, the temp hasn't been above 70!!!! I may pass out flyers!!!! My home may look like a spaceship or something off of Startrek, but I am able to cook in my kitchen without sweating! Purchased to cover the van frame in between the heavier insulation in my Sprinter camper van build. Easy to trim and fit. It does NOT have adhesion on it, which I preferred. I used spray glue and foil tape to attach it.
