  • Works Great!
It works well with Alexa, including voice control and routines. We have routines setup to where the fan turns on when we go to bed and off when we wake up. It's very convenient for us, as our fan is installed on a box that was designed for a light only and doesn't have seperate fan controls (and the controls are across the room anyway). The electronics box is pretty large, so figuring out how to fit it in the fan housing could be a challenge depending on how your fan is designed to mount to the ceiling. Our has a wide "flush mount" base and I ended up popping the plastic cover off and screwing it into the ceiling to secure it. The only drawback is that you have to install some random new app, but honestly that's the case with all of these types of devices. Once it's installed and linked to your Alexa you don't have to worry about it again. ... show more

  • Easy to install and works well with remote or Alexa
The Smart WiFi Ceiling Fan and Light Remote Control Kit was easy to install provided you have enough room in your fan canopy. It's not overly large, but some fan canopies can be tight on space. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. The handheld remote works very well. The controller allows the fan to operate at a very low speed while also keeping the fan's top speed available (I had purchased a different brand that never seemed to allow full fan speed). Integration with Alexa is easy and works really well after linking your SmartLife account to Alexa. For me, Google Assistant integration only allows for fan On/Off (no light control and no fan speed control). The SmartLife app is simple and easy to use. There is not built in light dimming in the controller. Not an issue for me but it might be for some. When controlling the fan from Alexa I say "Set the ceiling fan speed to 1, 2, or 3 rather than low, medium, or high as suggested by another reviewer. ... show more

  • Great unit, just a bit large.
Pros: Ease of Installation: The installation process for this was remarkably straightforward. I appreciated how quickly and easily I could set it up, making it an accessible option for those who aren't very tech-savvy. Pairing with App: Connecting the device to its corresponding app was a breeze. The pairing process was intuitive and didn't require any complicated steps, which significantly enhanced my overall user experience. Installation Tip: Instead of the traditional wire nuts, I opted to use WAGO connectors for the wiring connections. I found that WAGO connectors made the installation cleaner and more secure. I would definitely recommend others to use them for a more reliable setup. Cons: Size of Receiver: One notable drawback of this product is the size of the receiver. It is quite large, which might be too big for some fans. Fit Issues: Unfortunately, due to the receiver's size, I was unable to fit it inside the base of my fan. This was a bit of a disappointment as it affected the neatness of the setup. Workaround: Despite the fitting issue, I managed to mount the receiver outside the fan base using mounting adhesive. This turned out to be a practical solution, allowing me to use the smart control system without having to alter my fan or its base. The adhesive held up well and kept the receiver securely in place. Conclusion: Overall, while the product has its challenges, particularly with the size of the receiver, its ease of installation and functionality through the app make it a worthwhile consideration for those looking to upgrade their home automation. ... show more

  • Unbelievable
I've bought two of these for fans in both guest rooms and it's revelatory. The control units that came with the fans were slow and you couldnt really tell if the fan was changing speeds. These have an audible *click* when the light comes on, or when you change fan speeds. It's perfect.

  • Works fine but makes an annoying click when receiving a command
I had a generic Home Depot remote control fan in my daughter's room that one day died on us. Pulled off the cover and it still had power but the little controller thing was dead(almost identical to this one). It came with the house and it looks like the control module is an OEM part for the fan when I looked it up. So this part replaces the HD brand remote ceiling fan controller module to a T. It had the exact same wiring, no surprises, worked right out of the box, no need to pair the remote or anything. But... the fan beeps every time it receives a command. I looked it up and eventually got the beep shut off. In the Smart Life app(the fan must be on, fan motor not just the light) under settings there is an option button called "voice". Now, if you are a tiny bit tech savvy, the first thing you think of when you see voice is voice control via Google or Alexa. I guess the first thing the manufacturer/app developer thought of was "the fan must be given a voice so that customers know it heard their command". Weird but documented reasonably on the internet so after some digging I got it shut off. Issue that can't be fixed: It still makes a kind of loud, audible click whenever it receives a command. Press the light button: CLICK. Turn fan from medium speed to slow speed: CLICK. I mean, it's pretty loud. Like slightly quieter than the dryer door locking. Otherwise it's a serviceable replacement for a Home Depot generic fan controller. ... show more

  • This product was easy to install
This product will not work with all fans if you have a fan that the cover encloses the fan motor it will not work with that type of fan. These work as sad ND even allows you to control both the light and fan by voice keep the light switch on and the unit separated it in the box. Only thing you have to watch out for it the amount of room you have to install this unit. It fit in my fan a little snug but it fit. Remote works as well. ... show more
