Instructions directed me to install the VeriFit app on my phone. Pairing the phone was easy. There are many good choices of free faces for the watch or you can pay $.49 to $1.99 for others. I'm very happy with the free choices. Calls are clear and the person on the other end said they could not hear any difference from calling directly on the phone. After 2 full days of wearing the watch the battery is still at 74%! The Alexa app seems to perform just like an Amazon Echo. It's light weight and comfortable. So I'm a flight attendant and an alexa addict. I got this watch for the alexa feature. I labeled it as not friendly to the skies because it seems that any time I take off and lose a data signal, the alexa feature doesn't work. In addition, alexa only seems to work if I keep the alexa app or the veryfit app open at all times. I spend a lot of time in the air... So alexa failed me on this device. Next, I often set timers when I'm flying for cabin checks and such. The software for this did not seem to have a timer button anywhere that I could find. So strike two for me. Next, the watch faces are changeable but not super customizable. The most you can do is upload a picture with the time... You can make the time any color you want, but you can't add steps or battery life or any of that. If you want that stuff, you have to pick one of their pre-designed faces. The faces aren't bad... The numbers were big enough that I could read them without my reading glasses... But again, it was missing features from the home screens I was tempted by. I give it four stars because you can make all this work for you... But you will have to leave the app open all day, which might drain your phone battery faster. Battery life on the watch is killer though. I used it for two days straight without recharging it and only drained about thirty percent in those two days. So that's a big plus. ... show more

This watch has a nice sized face and you are able to see it outside in the sunshine. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that I like about this watch! Due to the problems I was having with the watch, I have already returned it for a replacement and the replacement is not any better. 1. Before you can even start using the watch, you must download and install the mobile app. This app seems to be developed by an 8th grader who took a coding class at Summer Camp. The only thing that seems to work consistently is the multitude of badges it keeps awarding you every day! I am not 12 years old, I don't need badges! 2. Don't even try to use the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode. If you use it in the scheduled mode, you will not receive any messages or phone calls even during the unscheduled time. The watch will monitor your sleep, but even with the DND mode, every time you turn over or adjust your covers during the night, the face lights up - brightly! 3. I have the watch set to use miles/feet as my unit of measure, however, it continues to report altitude measurements in Meters! Not very helpful for a hiker. 4. I went for a 7 mile hike, and the watch shows Calorie Consumption = 0. Seriously, I climbed a some pretty steep hills. 5. During a hike, it will give a little ding when you have walked each mile. However, it does not provide any audio update such as the last mile took xx minutes and current Heart rate is xx. If you want any additional information, you need to stop and look at the watch. Oh but make sure you do NOT have a scheduled DND mode. Even if you are not during the scheduled DND - you WILL NOT receive any alerts. To summarize, this watch is useless as a sports watch!!! ... show more

But the Garmins have changed and yet I did not like it. so then I finally received this one and LOVE IT. It was so much less money. 2nd update: found a reset button in the app, got the watch working again so that’s all good. After a few weeks wearing for exercise/sleep, I like some of the features but I’m not convinced the heart rate tracks accurately. Update: not even a month after purchased and charger does not charge watch. Have tried multiple positions and it acts as if it will charge but then does not. The smart watch came fully charged so I’ve had it on for a full day so far, still adjusting to the differences between my former Fitbits. The silicone band itself feels the same as the original one that came with my Fitbit but the plastic clasps ….I’m going to keep an eye on, will update review if needed. It was easy enough to download the app and change the watch face to one I selected. Controls for music couldn’t be easier, choose which notifications I wanted going with what health monitors I wanted on. The only thing I miss the most is having the setting that wakes me up within a half hour of my alarm time if I’m in a light sleep cycle, but for the money I saved I’ll get over it! ... show more
