its really sturdy and it holds up my sony a7c with a chonky boy lense really well. my only con is the little riser piece for the ball head has no flat spots so I had to use a pair of pliers to unscrew it, which ruined the paint. thats mostly on me though.

This is actually incredibly heavy duty, lightweight and sturdy! I bought it to use with my phone but I would have no concerns putting my Nikon DSLR camera on it! I need to search and see if it comes in a shorter length as well but I HIGHLY recommend this stand!

I absolutely hate this thing, mainly for two reasons. Firstly, it's designed to clamp onto a desk or other flat surface. Fine, it does that. But then, typically, it's going to be mounted at the back of said flat surface, i.e.away from you. So to mount the camera, you may have to bend over your desk and then somehow rotate your expensive camera again and again and again on the ballhead. That's because there is no quick-release plate. So you are twirling your camera while standing or sitting and you hope it's not going to fall to the floor. A simple quick-release would solve this problem. Secondly, I can't get the ballhead off the mount. No matter how many times (twenty? fifty?) I twirl the damn thing counter-clockwise after loosening the screw, it just won't lift off the mount. I can't understand why there are so many positive reviews of this thing, since it's not designed thoughtfully. Not recommended. ... show more
