We tried a trainer clock, but found that when the light came on letting the kids know they could get out of bed, it often was bright enough to wake them up. We didn't want to discourage them from sleeping in, just from getting up too early. So we put the clock away. Then our kids were suddenly afraid of the dark. We decided to use a Philips Hue light bulb to go with the rest of our system that we could use for many purposes, including control via the app instead of a switch in the room. My dad (88 yrs old with vision and memory issues) broke his traditional candlestick lamp when knocked it off his nightstand while trying to turn in his CPAP machine. This lamp was the perfect replacement. This is a very pretty lamp at such a good price. I don’t like lights that have a glare, and these provide plenty of warm light. Very well made. If I needed another I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again but 3 in a small house is probably enough!

I needed a couple of small lamps to accent an area without having to turn on the rooms main lights, flooding the room. These work very well b3 creating an ambient light that doesn't overkill. Very nice for the price.

I can’t say enough good things about this little lamp! Or bedside tables are not very big and i needed to add light…but a small lamp. These are perfect. I was happy they came out of the box ready to put together in 3 steps! I love the on-off toggle switch as well. I got the linen shade and soft white bulbs. I didn’t need these lamps to fully light up the room as we have overhead daylight bulb lighting. I can’t wait to see the cozy lighting at night. Great find!! ❤️ ... show more

I like the height and width of this small lamp. It makes it versatile for small places (shown here on a bookcase) The brightness of course, depends on the bulb. This will be more of an accent/nightlight. It does not give off adequate light for reading. The thumb switch is nice, so you don't have to physically turn any knob.
