  • Perfect!
Size: GripCase SD ONLY [No carrying case] Color: GripCase SD Only-Black
I love the Deck but I find its surface a bit rough and it causes my hands to get sweaty after long play sessions. This fixes that and adds a really nice texture to it. It also of course protects it from scratches and some drops. Its effect on overall ergonomics isn’t massive, but the Steam Deck already excels at that anyway and this allows it to fit in the official case (it’s a tight fit but you can definitely make it work). It’s very easy to put on and take off, can be done with little effort but it still feels secure. You can’t use it with the official but that’s where another bonus feature comes in: you can stand it up. No kickstand or anything, just put it down straight and it’ll stay upright. This is obviously just useful in general but it gets around the dock issue because you can just stand the Deck up in front of the dock and then plug it in. Awesome product! ... show more

  • 1TB OLED OEM Valve case can handle it
Size: Bundle-GripCase + EDC Case Color: Bundle-Black
I paid for the 1TB OLED model with the slim case from valve but I wanted to get my grip on, and didn't wanna have another big zip case. The grip here is great. Super quality , great texture, very well designed. Now about the fit in the 1TB OLED OEM case from Valve... When I DON'T have the grip on, and I pull back the 'lips' of the zipper on the 1TB OLED case, the hard inner 'gums' of each half of the case touch each other, and zip closure works without resistance. When you DO put the grip on, Valve's case can zip fully closed. The hard gums are not flush, but that makes sense since this changes the geometry of the palm grip corners of the thing. If you put the grip-on Steam Deck in face-down first, so the sticks sit properly in the molded relief, this geometry is mostly unchanged and the fitment is natural. Then you can flip the case closed to cover the back. The hands free stand up flat back corners of this grip 100% smoosh up against the back of the case, I won't delude you. Fortunately if you leave it in there frequently enough the Valve case will begin to reshape itself at those corner points in about a week or so. If you load it back to front in the case, the sticks might not lay where you want them and might get unintentional pressure. Load it face down and you have to exert significantly to click in a stick, which to me means there's sufficient protective clearance. The bundle I bought included a very very nice case that fits the grip with no trouble as well, but the black Friday price difference was negligible, so I picked up the bundle even though I had no use for the outer case if the grip fit in the Valve joint. If I got another 1TB steam deck I'd get another of these but skip the bundle. If you have the non OLED, or less than 1TB model, the bundle case is an upgrade vs the one the device ships in. I'm pretty picky, but this one fits just fine. ... show more

  • My New Steam Deck Necessity
Size: GripCase SD ONLY [No carrying case] Color: GripCase SD Only-Black
I actually went to Skull & Co for some thumb grips for my Steam Deck, but I noticed they had this case available as well. After a little further research I noticed there was a lot of high praise for this item, so I gave it a chance. I don't think I'll ever take it off of my Deck. It slipped on with just enough resistance to have confidence in the fit. The ergonomic comfort went up at least 2x. The button function is still just fine for me, as I tend to set my layouts to avoid the back buttons, but I know there is a kit out there for that as well. If you have a licensed Steam Deck brand case, don't worry. Even with this case and thumb covers, it still fits just fine. There is slightly more resistance when closing the zipper, but the case does not seem to be stressed and the overall lack of play in the case gives me more confidence that there is no sort of wiggles or shakes that could possibly inadvertently trigger the power button or rattle the joysticks. Honestly, I wish I would have bought one a year ago. There is almost no weight to it, but it gives the Deck a substantially sturdier and comfortable feel. Great product! ... show more

  • My favorite case and carry case
Size: GripCase SD ONLY [No carrying case] Color: GripCase SD Only-Black
I bought both the slim grip case and the hard carry case. For the grip, initially I was put off by the rubber smell but letting that air out for a week or two really helped. And km glad because this is my favorite case for the deck. It's not too bulky, it adds a nice amount of grip and being able to stand it up on its own is a really nice convenience to add. The black helps maintain the sleek look of the deck. For the carry case, I had a hard time replacing the original case the oled came with but I wanted something that fit the Skull and Co grip. Fortunately this case is only a little thicker than the slim case, and comes in a nice denim blue. It feels very premium I think it's a perfect carrying case ... show more

  • 4.5 out of 5 Stars! Great Product
Size: GripCase SD ONLY [No carrying case] Color: GripCase SD Only-Coyote Gray
Took a gamble on adding a case to my Steamdeck, went with the Skull & Co GripCase. As much as I liked ergos of the deck as it is, I wanted something that could add just a touch more tactility. This case does just that! A little thickness and some texturing does wonders for me. The coyote color is super cool, but I think the galactic purple is gorgeous and the black could be a great blank canvas for someone more artistic than I. I was surprised to find that it fits the stock deck case, which is awesome for me because I didn’t want to order the Skull & Co EDC Carrying Case as I find the one provided with the deck to be quite serviceable. It’s a bit snug in said Valve case, yes. Had I not replaced the stock thumbsticks to Hall effect ones, I’d probably be concerned. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up with the EDC Carrying Case and it’s SD card slots and what looks like a pocket for cords and such. It also fits my dock of choice: the Sabrent 6-Port Docking Station. It’s more snug, and the deck sits more vertically à la a Nintendo Switch in a switch dock. Very steady in the dock, in my opinion. TLDR: aside from the snug fit in the stock Valve carrying case, which may worry some, it’s a great Steamdeck Grip and you should consider it. 4.5 / 5 Stars Overall a great buy if you’re looking for something like this and your needs are similar to mine. Of course, your mileage may vary. Best of luck and thanks for reading! ... show more
