I have grandkids, boys and girls ages 5-10. Started out doing this with the 10 year old. Within 15 minutes the other 5 kids had joined us. They all loved it. It’s important to read the instructions carefully but once you do it’s fun and the pictures turn out very pretty. Even us adults thought it was really neat. Both my newly 5 year old boy and 7 year old girl really enjoyed this craft. It’s simple enough for them to do on their own without requiring any assistance or supervision from adults. Despite that, I found myself engaged in making designs alongside my children because it was so fun! We also have given these sets as birthday presents for my children’s classmates and I think they make a great gift to someone you may not know well enough. Variety of themes make these craft kits suitable for any gender, even princess and unicorns set I got for my daughter had some boys characters mixed into most scenes so my son was excited to dress them as well. 10/10 would recommend! ... show more

This set exceeded my expectations. It is a VERY nice set with a lot to do! My son got one for Christmas, and we have been buying them for gifts ever since! I got the princess one for our daughter a while back and it was a blast. Had no smell ... but recently got another set the big animal pack and oh my word it smelled so strong I almost felt sick. Saw discoloring on the back of the foils. I don't know why that would stink but the other had no smell at all. I'm hoping it's a fluke cause it was an Easter treat and she's begging to use it but I ordered a replacement. If this one stinks too I'll just have to give up, which is a shame cause it's a wonderful little craft :( ... show more

Kids age 2-6 got the hang of this pretty quickly - take off part of the foam sticker front covering, put foil on top, rub, and the sparkly foil is transferred. You can take off different parts of the sticker fronts to do them in different colors. Then take off the sticker back to add the whole sticker to a colorful sturdy background. There are lots of foils and stickers and the results are satisfyingly shiny and sparkly without the mess of glitter. Four kids had plenty to use from one kit although there were different levels of interest. However BE PREPARED FOR CLEAN UP of many VERY SMALL sticker front coverings - think tips of candles, eyes, carrot nose, etc. Even as adult it was difficult to prevent these from going everywhere. Needed a vacuum to get it all cleaned up. Definitely NOT a plane or car ride activity (which I was hoping for) as I had been intending to give different kits for the trip home. There are many foils provided so lots of red and green although I was wishing for more color variety - like black for snowman top hat or brown for wood. Google eyes are very small (appropriately sized tho’ for size of sticker) but hard to work with as static electricity makes them adhere to fingers etc. Even talented 6 year old needed help. Can take a lot of patience and time if you do all the parts of the sticker different colors. If you don’t rub hard enough or fully around then foil won’t transfer to those areas (sticky black shows through). We ended up using kids glue sticks with the caps on as rubbing instruments which helped. The 2 (almost 3 year old) did everything in all one color and enjoyed it that way. 6 year old enjoyed doing different parts different colors and layered stickers (like holly on wreath) but it took a long time (she has a lot of patience). Overall kids were impressed with their sparkly work and enjoyed it because it was so different - just be prepared for the drawbacks. At least there was no paint or glitter. I initially purchased foil art for my niece’s birthday gift. I received rave reviews and luckily got a same day delivery for my own kiddo. This is such a fun activity that we did together! The creative juices were flowing and I loved seeing my child work on her fine motor skills while working on this craft. I’d give this more of a strong 4.5 instead of a 5. The sticker sheets have an awful smell to them. When foiling the stickers, I found some tiny areas didn’t let the foil stick to them. I would have also liked more of a variety in foil colors. Still, this was a great activity that both my child and I enjoyed. I’d love to see an adult version of these kits! ... show more
