Had everything I needed! Was able to tune my edges and wax my board - haven’t taken my board out yet to see if it made a difference. I wish the instructions were a little more in depth, but you can also just google how to do everything so not that big of a deal.

    • Best ski/snowboard tune/wax kit I have ever come across
I've been snowboarding since 1992. Over time we had collected together a couple kits which had all the tools we needed for tuning and waxing our boards. This kit covers most everything you are going to need for daily maintenance, tuning, and waxing. The only lack is it only has an all purpose wax, which for most people is going to be fine. We carried several boards tuned for the conditions we were going to ride and how we were planning on riding that day. This included temperature rated waxes for park ice conditions, groomers, deeps, fresh deeps, you get the idea. But regardless of conditions a general, all purpose wax will get you through better than a board which hasn't been recently waxed. So let me talk about the equipment in this kit. I'm just going to hit the ones I really like and think are above standard. The carry case is great for keeping at the condo and doing daily tunes and waxes after another great day on the hill. The Iron. First, don't forget to remove the blue film from the iron before turning it on. It is there for new item protection don't melt it onto your iron. I like how the selection dial is in degrees. This lets you get that right area close, then you can tune in for the wax. You want the iron hot enough to easily melt the wax but not so hot it might damage the ptex of the base. This is a beautiful tool. The edging tool has predesigned slots which have the base and edge angles so you can get the right specific angle. If you don't know just use the 89 degree, it would be the most forgiving on the snow. Play with it and you will find what works best for you under what conditions. Keep track of that info so you can get better over time. The only part of the edge file system I think is missing is there is no direction of travel stamped on the file edge. You will learn which way you like the draw over time. Base cleaner is important. Many people don't properly clean their base before waxing. Doing that will put contaminants into your wax, and ultimately drive them deeper into your base. Everything else is just normal stuff you should find in this type of a kit. Even if you are using rental skis, if you head to a resort for a week you should be tuning and waxing your boards preferably every night, but at least a few times in the week. If you ski or snowboard a week or more a year you need this kit. If you own your own skis or snowboards you need this kit. If your son or daughter regularly ski or snowboard this kit would be a perfect present. If you haven't noticed, I like this kit. Overall, this is an excellent collection of tools put together by someone who actually does their own maintenance on their skis or snowboards.
