  • Good case but wish wheels and handles were sturdier.
Style: Medium
This is a wonderful case with a really good fit and finish. I had to return mine as it just barely didn't fit in my trunk (I was able to get it in once but it was like completing a 5000 piece puzzle). I drive a 2015 Kia Cadenza which has a quite large trunk, I was just unable to get it in the trunk opening confidently. This was also a concern because if you rent a car you may have the same issues and you can't exactly take the clubs out and fold up the case. I would be concerned taking this case on trip with a rental car involved if there is more than two people going because the case may have to go in the back seat. Second issue. The hands and wheels are weak points that are cheaply made and designed to be replaced. Unfortunately the wheels are riveted on so you may have to do some drilling and construction to replace them if they break on you as noted in other reviews. The handles are held on by nylon bolts that can be easily replaced. The one thing I noticed that you may want to check when you get the case is the foam wasn't perfectly pressed down in my case. There was plenty of glue, I just pressed it down and it stuck nicely. I'm just stating this so you don't accidentally goof up the foam when using the first time. I actually really like the latches on this case. They appear to be made of a strong nylon that should probably last for life. The latches work extremely well and give me confidence that they won't pop open. I am going to order the standard case (non deluxe) and I believe that will fit in my car easier. The large hump in the bottom of the case is cumbersome and I don't need the extra space. I value my clubs and it appears SKB has good warranty service. Overall, I highly recommend this case if you value your clubs. It should last a long time and I think it will make flying or even traveling in a car with multiple bags a more worry-free experience. I would have given this case a 4 star rating but the warranty service appears good and the fit and finish is the best in this case category, so 5 stars it is. ... show more

  • Great protection for your clubs
Style: Large
The quality of the construction of the SKB golf cases is great. I've used other soft-sided cases and the results were disappointing. I've had several clubs bent during travel with the soft-sided case. That has not happened in 2-years of using the SKB hard-sided case. I now travel worry-free when it comes to my golf clubs. I highly recommend the SKB hard-sided golf club cases. ... show more

  • Much better than your average shipping case
Style: Extra Large
These SKB cases are made tough to withstand shipping and baggage handlers. The triple latching system is redundant so even if one latch is damaged the other 2 will hold fine. Most other flight cases for golf clubs have plastic zippers so once it gives our your case is worthless. I also use these SKB cases to ship camera tripods and other camera shooting equipment like lighting and lighting stands. ... show more

  • Very Strong Case, Great Protection, Wheels need to be stronger
Style: Large
UPDATE: Replacing the wheel was not too difficult, and when I arrived home I decided to purchase an extra replacement wheel and drill out the other wheel that was still riveted. I also keep a multi-function screwdriver in my bag just in case the wheel breaks again. About 2 or 3 months ago, my bag arrived with a busted wheel at baggage claim. Thankfully my airline repaired it at no-charge. Additionally, I found some replacement screws at my local hardware store that were slightly longer and replaced the factory ones on the handles, along with locking nuts. I haven't had a problem with these in over a year. I am going to bump my rating from 3 to 4 stars for the following reasons: - The replacement parts are reasonably priced - Replacing the wheels is relatively easy - The bag has survived 50+ flights and dozens of road trips - SKB Customer Service has been great I have taken this case on dozens of trips since I bought it in June 2015. The case has been great, fits my large Sun Mountain C-130 Cart bag, range finder, and a pair of shoes. It is a snug fit, but it all goes. The case provides exceptionally protection for your clubs and the build quality is very good. The handles are very comfortable when pulling it as well. However, there are 2 things that need to be fixed. 1) The handle in the middle of the case has one of the screws come loose. So far my handle has not been broken, but it is very difficult to move the case around (particularly when lifting into a vehicle) when the handle is hanging by a single screw. On the plus side, the screw is attached with a washer and lock-nut inside the case, so once I find those in the bottom of the case I can re-attach the handle, but it is still a hassle. 2) On my current trip, when I arrived at my destination and started walking to the rental car lot I noticed my travel case was not rolling smoothly. Upon inspection, I noticed the rivet holding the wheel in is out about 1/4-3/8". The housing seems to be ok, but the wheel rivet/axle is not and causes the wheel to be tilted and rub. I just ordered a replacement wheel + housing and will be trying to replace it this weekend, but I am not looking forward to drilling out the rivets. I hope good instructions are included. I had read another review or 2 on Amazon about this problem and figured they had abused their bags, but now that it happened to me as well I am wondering if the wheel design is not strong enough for the weight of the bag + clubs, or if it was bused by the airline, or both. For the price I am paying for this case, I would expect the wheels to be a little easier to replace rather than requiring me to drill out the rivets, and then I am very concerned about having the problem of another customer where the housing attachment starts to weaken after replacing. ... show more
