I bought this (rectangular bowl) exclusively for instant ramen, and I mean no frills bricks and water then pop it in the microwave instant ramen. And for this purpose, it is the most perfect microwave instant ramen container I have ever owned. You might think the 'noodle' bowl would be more suited for ramen - you'd be wrong. I got that one, too, and it is fantastic for soup but a ramen brick will not fit unless you break it into chunks and by then you've missed the point of instant ramen, which is the ratio of calories to effort expended. The rectangular bowl will, just barely 90% of the time, fit two standard ramen bricks inside. Fill it with water until the water just barely crests the top of the bricks, secure the lid, MAKE SURE THE VENT IS OPEN, put in your microwave and (for me) microwave for 6 minutes. Let it sit for as long as you prefer your ramen to soak and then it's ready for the flavor packets, but the cooking part is done. And that's it. Two bricks with a little effort maybe, water, lid, microwave and you're done. I would prefer if it were just a few cm longer so I didn't have to force the bricks in sometimes but aside from that it has worked for me every time. I've reordered it because I foolishly left my old one behind after a move, it's held up and is very easy to clean. If you just want no frills instant ramen two bricks at a time, the rectangular bowl is all you'll ever need. ... show more

I bought this to make single serving portions of spaghetti and rice for me in the microwave. I thought it would be perfect for me when I am feeling a little hungry but did not want to deal with making a huge pot of spaghetti or rice on the stove. It does not really work that well. I have tried to cook with it in the microwave several times. Each time I put in less spaghetti and water to try and make it work but it always boils over and I have to wipe up the mess in the microwave. I have played around with the amount of spaghetti, water, and time in the microwave without luck. The reason I still give it 3 stars is because it serves pretty well as a storage container, however, the whole reason I purchased this product was to cook with it. ... show more

*** I highly recommend the following. As I was carrying it with food inside, I accidentally lifted one of the clips which caused it to open & it spilled the food on the floor. To avoid that happening again I put a rubberband around it covering the clips. *** I probably have 25 different shapes & sizes of these Sistema items. This one is my favorite. I have several of these Sistema microwave bowls in several sizes. They work great, as they slowly vent the steam, making for a nice result. They go through the dishwasher on top shelf like champs. I have them in the RV and at home...I now drop all sorts of things and these bowls could care less, unlike the Corell dishware. Keeps the peace in the kitchen, as no glass clean-up necessary. ... show more

Well, waited for my review of this. Ok the leak proof is excellent, but the reheating process is taking a toll already and have only had it a few months. So, yes the inside looks a bit eaten up now. We do not use knives and forks on these. But we bought them to store and microwave leftovers. Going to try something else. But if leak proof is what you need only then this is perfect. But I would say reheat in something else if you want it to last. ... show more
