I changed out an HID light with this LED. My 2015 Dodge Durango Citadel has an OEM HID lamp, allowing the ballast to accommodate the LED lamp. Apparently different trims of 2015 Durangos have either Halogen or HID which have different plugs. It got confusing since Amazon said another LED 9012 would fit my car prior to me taking out my old bulb and inspecting the plug. The lamp fit well. The instructions were a bit lacking especially about aiming the light. Best practice. The plug faces down and the yellow sides of the light face left and right or 3 to 9 o'clock. I don't drive a lot at night. My hid bulb lasted 8 years. I'm hoping this one actually lasts the 2 years like the warranty says. It should last much longer for how little I drive. Another thing my light cover fit over this light and I put it back on. Some say to leave it off so the bulb can keep from overheating. I found better reasons to keep the cover on an protect the light housing. The light was good not much brighter than an old hid but it was brighter but not how it claims. ... show more

The headlights seem to be well built and sturdy. They are definitely brighter than the original OEM HID bulbs they replaced although that might just be because of the age of the old bulbs. The high beams seem to have a longer throw distance but then again it might just be because they are newer. Installation on a 2014 Dodge Durango Citadel was not as easy as it seemed on the videos I watched on YouTube. It was not easy to remove the dust cap especially on the driver's side. It was also difficult to unscrew the lamp from the socket because of the tight clearances; there is a hard plastic bracing with sharp edges in the way. It was also difficult to unplug the HID bulb because of the design of the socket which requires you to compress a spring loaded connector to pull it out. Additionally the cable for the connector is very short. You will encounter the same challenges putting the new bulb in. Luckily the passenger side bulb could be accessed from the engine bay although not comfortably. I had to do a lot of the installation by feel. But I got it done in the end. It is also impossible to see if the bulbs are aligned vertically. I'm not sure yet if it affects the beam spread/pattern. It took me about 40 minutes to complete the installation. I am pleased with the results so far. Now I'll just have to hope it lasts as long as the OEM bulb which lasted almost 10 years. I don't want to go through that installation again anytime soon. ... show more

Don’t mind the mess in the pictures. Overall, I’m very pleased with these. I’m glad that I didn’t have to do anything extensive to convert my HID to LED and these can be powered directly from the ballasts. Much easier to see the road. Hopefully, these last for years and I’ll have no issues. I will update this review in the future regarding the status of these bulbs. So far, so good. *update* driving around the suburbs, the lights do just fine. I was driving around more rural areas, like national parks, and the lights were good, but not great. I have a ‘14 Sprinter with OEM HID setup and OEM projectors. The way the light shines from these, it produces a decent cutoff line with low beams, but a weird angled cutoff when high beams are on. This is probably just the nature of the bulb inside of the projectors since the LEDs are on either side. Maybe the power output of my ballast sucks or the Mercedes projector is mediocre. These are still brighter than stock and an inexpensive way to get more light on the road. ... show more

    • Fixes the mysterious Tesla headlight light problem

The headlights on my 2015 Tesla model S would periodically stop working. Numerous mechanics told me I would have to basically rewire the car for a orbitally high amount of money. I found a forum post that said replacing the headlights with these bulbs would fix the problem. They totally worked!
