I had to do some modifications to the retaining ring on the headlight assembly to make it work had to enlarge the hole and notch it so the cord fits through but I made it work haven't seen themin the dark but could see them in daylight

I am returning this LED conversion kit because the lamp assemblies did not fit my headlight reflector housings in spite of the fact that the Amazon Garage parts compatibility selector said they would fit my car. The cable which connects the lamp to the existing 3-prong socket in the car wiring comes out of the side of the lamp housing. This cable does not show in any of the photos on line. Because of this cable, the LED assembly is too wide to allow installation of the retaining ring (which holds the LED lamp assembly into the back of the headlight reflector). I have read that the USDOT regulations do not permit installation of LED lamps into reflectors designed for use with halogen lamps, so when I saw that this conversion kit was DOT compliant I thought there had been a breakthrough and bought it specifically for DOT compliance. So naturally I am disappointed that they don't fit my reflectors. I doubt they will fit any reflector which uses a twist-lock retaining ring to hold the lamp in place. ... show more

Great Brightness, Handle with care when installing, there is a fan on the end and the plastic wings are plastic. The housing is all plastic. I bought this one because it has the DOT stamped on it so it should, hopefully pass state inspection.

    • If you read the instructions they're a breeze to install (9004)

I know that some of you out there are pretty special, and don't like to read instructions so let me help you out before you try to install these and leave them a 1 star review because you either had to modify your retainer rings or just returned them because they wouldn't fit through the retainer ring. If you undo the little screw on the side with the included allen key, that plastic ring with the seal will slide up and off then you just put your retainer ring on from the top, put that seal piece back and screw it down. Over all these are much brighter than the halogen bulbs I took out of my car, they shine twice as far on low beam and don't look any brighter from the front. I didn't see how much further they shine on high beam but they did shine really far, from the front they were pretty blinding though. ... show more

Seems to be around 3x brighter than my old halogens! If they last, will be a great value. Did not fit my Mazda, however. I had to enlarge the center hole in my retainer ring, then split its compression ring, spring it open, install between base and the wire coming out the side, and inastall. If you have a dremel tool with a carbide drum cutter and a tuff grind disc, then it's not too bad. ... show more
