I didn't take any photos while putting this into my soap bottle, and I wish I had. I'm not taking it apart to show the struggles we had. The valve at the end, keeping the soap in the hose, is great. It works like a charm. The soap is always primed. I would give a five star with three changes. 1) A cap that fits my size of bottle. None of the caps fit the soap bottle, not even the silicone cap. One would think that with four caps to choose from, one would have fit. I use Palmolive in a Costco size bottle. It's a pretty standard size opening, but none of these fit it. Fortunately, the hose did fit in the cap for the soap bottle. 2) The way that the hose must be inserted makes connecting it a pain. I would have liked to drop the entire hose down through the hole in the sink and connect it to the pump above the sink, where I can see. It's much easier than putting my old bones on the floor and awkwardly shoving myself into the little opening that is the cupboard door under the sink (think Chris Farley's Fat Guy in a Little Coat). Maybe a lid that snaps closed over the hose, or a slightly better engineered silicone lid would do that job. 3) I don't get quite as much soap out per pump as I did from the original soap dispenser bottle. I'm not sure if it's due to the valve, the hose only being so tight on the pump, or something else. Maybe I'll troubleshoot (if I can figure out a way to get my head and hands up high enough under the sink to put a clamp on the hose). Anyway, a little more soap per pump would be nice. Even with all of those problems, I'm still happy I found this one. I've purchased so many others that just didn't work at all. It's been installed for around a week. If the valve ever breaks, I'll update this review if the product is still being sold. ... show more

I am not sure if we did something wrong somewhere or what but if took us a while for the dish soap to actually pump. Like I pumped it 50+ times and there still wasn't any soap coming. So I figured we did something wrong somewhere while installation, I haven't had the time to look more into it so I left it at that. I had to push the tubing over the straw end of my Kohler soap pump since the upper connection was too large. Other than that, this setup works great. No more spilling soap on the sink trying to fill the bottle from the top. The weighted check valve works as advertised by consistently holding soap in the tubing. After using it for a week, soap is dispensed on the first pump every time. This design seems better than the versions that use the separate check valve farther up the line. It’s a great product once you get it primed. I was ready to remove it and send it back. I had to pump it at least 700 times in order to get the dishwashing liquid up to the spout. Now it’s working great.

The product is easy to install, as I suppose any of these extension tubes are. I like that the valve is relatively heavy so it will stay at the bottom of the detergent bottle. After installation, detergent was dispensed after priming for about 80-90 pumps - no problem. But a couple of hours later, the extension tube was nearly empty, as I had to prime for another 50-90 pumps before I anything came out the spout. The same happened for several days. Removing it, I found that the one-way valve was very erratic, sometimes staying open to flow in both directions, sometimes getting plugged and not allowing flow in the proper direction at all (I held it vertically, as it would be in the bottle). The valve is a small sealed unit so I didn't investigate further. Shame, because I had high hopes for this. Returned it, received a replacement within 36 hours! This one seems to work well - it's been in place for 2 days and; the valve so far works well. It seems to have quite a strong spring - takes a surprising pressure to open. But the pump manages it OK. So I'm a happy camper now & revised my rating. ... show more

Got an all metal soap dispenser here on Amazon. It came with a small 8oz bottle that like our previous plastic dispenser that gave out, was a pain to fill. Whether you filled bottle by climbing under sink to remove or slowly drizzling through the top neck. This hose kit has us never looking back. The kit fit perfectly and we used an old 32oz spray bottle that one of the caps fit perfectly for our hand soap. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to avoid tiny bottle refills. Just be sure to suck the soap to near the top of the hose before connecting to your pump. Most pumps would need several hundred pumps to get all the way through this tube before use. ... show more
