  • Great except it pours too much & doesn't register choices if you have dry skin
We're quite happy with this in general. We like the style, the narrow width that's easier to find space for, the reservoir, the options for how it brews, almost everything about it. We've found two issues with it, though. BUTTON SENSITIVITY First, it seems like you need moist fingers for the buttons to register. We thought it was broken because the person using it couldn't make any selections on the touchscreen-style buttons. They just would not register for her. Then someone else who tends to have moist, sweaty hands tried using it. It registered almost every push. We've found that the first person IS able to use it if she dampens her finger slightly. You also have to wait a second or two before pushing a button again. On a side note, you also can't make selections if the coffee maker is off. There's still a pale blue light under the on/off switch when it's off. When it's on, the power button is lit more brightly and "size" is also lit up. VOLUME The coffee maker uniformly pours approx 2 oz more than the setting we have it on. It pours almost 8 oz if we have it set to 6 oz and 16 oz if we have it set to 14 oz. I am including photos of what we got when the coffee maker was set to both 6 oz and 14 oz. Although I don't have any reason to mistrust the Anchor Hocking measuring cup we used, I did pour the water from there into a different measuring cup to verify that we were getting too much water. Yep, we were. OVERALL Despite the two issues, we're quite happy with the coffee maker. Yes, had I actually purchased it, I would have returned it and requested another in hopes that the measurements on that one were correct. As it is, items through Vine are more or less in as-is condition and if there's a problem, I can't get a replacement. If we had purchased it normally and another weren't available, I think that we would still keep this one despite the issue. Since we know about it, it's just a matter of choosing a smaller setting than we actually want. ... show more

  • Versatile and makes a good cup of coffee
I’m a big fan of Keurig, not because of the quality of the coffee they make, but for the convenience. I have a Keurig coffee maker that makes a decent cup of coffee, but even with the reusable pod filled with good dark roast coffee, it comes out a bit weak. This new coffee maker comes with a K-cup adapter and 4 reusable canisters that can be filled with ground coffee or loose tea leaves. It also comes with a ground coffee cup adapter that hold much more coffee than the reusable canisters. The coffee maker came well packed, with all the loose parts taped together to prevent any damage in shipping. Before using it, I washed all the removable parts including the tank and the pods. The instructions say to run at least 2 brews through the machine to clean out the insides, which I did. The front of the machine has touch sensitive buttons to set the brewing size and to start the brew process. The bottom of the drip tray holds a nozzle cleaner that can be used to clean out the machine when it gets clogged with coffee grinds. To test the machine, I filled the ground coffee adapter with Starbucks Pike Place, a medium roast and brewed 12 ounces. The coffee came out great, it was full bodied and strong. I then tried some Starbucks Keurig pods, but the coffee came out slightly weaker than my Keurig machine. I also put some loose green tea into a reusable canister, and it seems to make a decent cup of tea. Overall, I think this is a good alternative to a Keurig machine. It makes a good cup of coffee, I like it for its simplicity and versatility, and the price makes it quite the bargain. The only thing I don’t like about this machine is the small reservoir. After 3 cups of coffee, it is empty, so if you have more than one coffee drinker in the family, someone will have to keep refilling it. If you are looking for a good coffee machine and don’t want to spend a lot of money, put this on your short list. ... show more

  • Excellent form factor, performance, and extras
I am a daily coffee drinker that has been using K Cup style coffee pods for many years now. I bought this item to replacement for another K Cup machine and it has been doing quite well! It comes with multiple reusable cups for coffee grounds which work well, and it also functions with standard coffee pods. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to just make a cup of coffee from time to time. The reservoir holds 40 oz, which is enough to make coffee 2-3 times for me (I make 12 oz cups). So, how does it compare to an actual Keurig? It is a bit slower - the Kuerig method seems to be to keep hot water at the ready at all times, while this machine has a short warmup before it starts pouring coffee. Something like a minute or so. After that minute, the performance is the same... except I honestly believe this thing makes a better cup of coffee. It also makes a hotter cup of coffee than the Keurig I have been using. Understanding it is simple, you might not need the instructions but if you do, google for cm9429 manual and you will find many instruction manuals for this machine rebranded by a variety of companies, and they are all the same information. Pros: - Easy to understand and use for anyone who has used a coffee pod machine before - Plenty of cup size options - Dispenses the correct amount - Very hot coffee, very, very hot coffee, please be careful. - Small form factor makes it an easy fit directly in the office Cons: - It takes a good minute longer than other machines I've tried, so it's not the fastest, but it's worth the wait - The power cord is a little shorter than I want, but ok. - Initial cleaning took a while to complete (I ran it through 4 times) Overall, this is a high value item that now occupies a space in my office, and happily replaces my previous, much more expensive model with one that actually works as intended. I don't really mind the extra small wait of a minute, and the coffee it produces is great, on par or exceeding my other options. I highly recommend this product - it will go cup for cup with a much more expensive coffee machine. ... show more
