We got this in black to complement some antique Asian painted bookshelves in our library, and it's a beautiful addition. The storage space and size make it a very versatile piece with many potential uses. There were only a few small nicks to the finish that were easily touched up with a fine black Sharpie. One person can assemble it, but it takes a long time as there are a lot of steps. You'll need to create your own drill holes to screw on the back panels or the screws may go in crooked as the wood is solid, which adds more time. I appreciate that stickers that match assembly directions are strategically placed so they will be hidden when fully assembled, so they're not necessary to remove. If you want to remove them, most will not come off easily and will require Goo Gone. If I'd realized this earlier in the assembly process, it would have taken me 3 hours instead of 4 hours to assemble. It was worth the effort, and I would buy it again. ... show more

Looks very nice once put up, but the process of assembling is a pain, took me about 3 hours. In order to hide all the screws, this product is designed with very weird screw angles. Some pieces comes dented, especially one matel drawer slider, I bent it back with tools but the drawer doesn't slide as smooth as the other one. Lastly, the doors doesn't line up perfectly, but it's hard to notice. With all this been said, I still love how it looks once put up, and it fit perfectly in our narrow entryway, I think it's a great valued product. ... show more

First, I love this cabinet. Second, I was lucky they shipped this all the way to Hawaii as their website said they only ship to the 48 states. I got lucky! Assembling - putting this together required two people. Although you could use a manual screwdriver, we used some power tools and predrilling the wholes, so we did not crack or splinter the wood. Instructions are very clear and outlines very well. All parts and bags are numbers with numerical and letters to tell you what piece goes where. It even has indicators to tell you which way is front. It took some time to make sure the doors were even when installing, but in the end, we got it. I am very thankful for the extra parts as some of the screw locks cracked. Delivery & Packaging - I will say this thing is packed very well. It made it to Hawaii with no scratches or cracks. Although the box was 100 lbs, and our UPS guy had a workout, this solid wood storage cabinet was packed very well, and all pieces, including the glass, were intact. Overall I love this storage cabinet. I would repurchase it and other products from SIMPLIHOME; however, I think this was not supposed to ship to Hawaii based on their shipping policy. I tried to order another product from them on their website here on Amazon. I was denied as it was outside of the 48 states. In the future, I hope they will ship to Hawaii. I don't mind paying the extra charge as their products are of quality. You can't get this here, and most of the products you can get are particleboard. The description says SOLID WOOD, but this is VERY MISLEADING. At least half of it is definitely manufactured wood and super cheap quality. And whatever is real wood is not very good quality. While it does look nice from a far, the finish on the pieces does dent and chip easily. I purchased the Amazon team to assemble it for me (they were GREAT!) but the end product, while it all fits together - isn't very sturdy. Mine is a bit wobbly so I'll have to put something under the legs. I'm also not sure if it's worth disassembling, trying to fit it all back in the box to ship it back. In general, this piece is NOT WORTH THE MONEY. You can find other similar pieces of furniture that are better quality - even though they aren't made out of "solid wood", that are more reasonably priced. ... show more

We needed a storage cabinet and had been shopping at the local furniture store for several weeks. I was reluctant to pay $700+ for a decent piece of furniture. This SIMPLIHOME Connaught Table was about half the price, so long as I was willing to spend the time to assemble. No brainer as I am pretty handy. The cabinet came very well packed, no damage whatsoever. Upon inspecting the pieces I was surprised that it is truly solid wood as advertised, (expect the masonite type back). I would say similar size cabinets in the furniture stores often have some pieces that are not even solid wood like this one. Assembly takes some time, but is not difficult if you can follow instructions. I did use a power drill to start pilot holes and to attach screws that cover the back of the unit. The only slight problem was the pins that mount in the inside pre-drilled holes. The holes are slightly undersized compared to the pins. I had to enlarge these holes slightly. ... show more

When we first moved into this house I bought a cabinet for the microwave and to store my many bottles of Torani syrup. But it always looked cheap. Then I read an article about how someone solved her kitchen storage problem with a sideboard. I found this one on Amazon but I hesitated. Then one day I went to look at it again and the price had dropped $70 and they were offering 12 months, interest free so I grabbed it. I was told to expect two weeks shipping but it arrived in a week. The instructions were clear, everything was well organized and clearly marked. We had a little trouble with the doors as there were no guide holes, only dimples. Did not use the shelves as the Torani with pumps were too tall. I never planned to use them.
