I bought this cup for my 3 year old and she uses it regularly. It is easily cleaned either by hand or in the dishwasher however I ensure I take the peices apart to make sure they all get clean. My 3 year old can easily open and close the spout on her own making my life easier. I only use room temperature or cold liquids as that is what she drinks so I dont know how it would hold up with hot drinks. It has been dropped and is very durable. No complaints. I’ve been using Simple Modern for my kids since they were old enough to drink out of straws. I love the variety of designs they offer. Not technically leak proof. Obviously if you flip it upside down, a little bit of water will leak where the straw is located. I also love that it always comes with an additional straw. I bought myself a simple modern tumbler and thought my son needed one too! The Cookie Monster print was too cute to pass up. I probably didn’t read the description fully but this is NOT a leak proof cup. When it is closed, it doesn’t leak but when the straw is open and held upside down it will leak. For bigger kids, I’m sure this isn’t a big issue but my son is a toddler so this can’t be an everyday cup for him. We’ve had the cup for a little over a month and don’t use it too often as I just mentioned so I haven’t noticed the design wearing yet but it is easy to clean. I also like that it comes with two straws. It is easy for my toddler to use and hold but I could see it being difficult as a first time straw cup because the opening is very wide. ... show more

My Elmo-obsessed kiddo loves this cup. I like the straw function to break away from the sippy cups. It’s very easy to clean, haven’t noticed any water collection which would leave to mold.
