Features

  • SERVING MADE SIMPLE: With this oven-to-table-to fridge-microwave dish, you can serve directly in the baking pan without compromising on style or safety. The clear glass dish makes an attractive presentation, and the shock-resistant Borosilicate glass will not shatter from the temperature change.
  • SLIGHTLY CURVED LID Allows the condensation to drain so you can see your food clearly as it is cooking. And the flat top means you can stack several containers on top of each other in the fridge for efficient storage. Miniature baking dish is perfect for personal sized meals.
  • HEAT AND COLD SAFE WITH A HIGH THERMAL SHOCK RESISTANCE: Pop your casserole in the oven, stick it in the fridge to cool off, and reheat your food in the microwave... all without shattering the glass. Dishwasher safe for quick and easy clean up.
  • MADE IN EUROPE: This glass casserole is manufactured in the Czech Republic, so you can rest assured that you will receive a quality product that will last for years. Simax glassware does not absorb odors or flavors, and you do not need to worry about nasty chemicals making their way into your food.
  • EASY COOK AND STORE: Casserole can withstand temperatures between 572 and -40 Fahrenheit (300/-40 Celsius). Use it to cook your food and then place the leftovers in the fridge or freezer for convenient storage. Baking dish holds 8.5 oz. and is microwave and dishwasher safe. Made from Cadmium and Lead-free recycled glass.

  • Great size for single servings
I use this dish to warm up leftovers as well as cooking single servings of vegetables. The dish cleans up very well.

  • Consumer Education Sent Me This Way
First of all, I am greatly disappointed to know that the vintage PY--- and other such well-known brands are not made of the glass that I knew as a much younger lady. So, I purchased this and it is PERFECT for a single person who uses a Toaster Oven all the time. I'm leary of microwaves. This stands up well to the high temperatures and close proximity to heating elements of my toaster oven, and I can say that it is the right price, for it is the right product for me. ... show more

  • Small but rugged
I have read that in 1998 Corning sold it’s Pyrex brand to World Kitchen LLC. I have read that at that time World Kitchen changed the Pyrex material from Borosilicate to Soda-lime glass. This obviously reduced production cost but I understand that soda-lime glass is resistant to chipping, but is not very thermal-shock resistant, meaning that placing a soda-lime Pyrex container just removed from the microwave onto a cool granite counter can shatter the Pyrex. I’ve not experienced this myself, but have heard enough stories to know this is plausible. I have also read that Corning switched to soda-lime glass in the 1930s/40s and, according to Wikipedia this shift occurred in the 1980s, so frankly I’m not sure when they made the change. This container is Simax (Borosilicate) and is manufactured in the Czech Republic. It’s not cheap, but it is very resilient. Do bear in the mind that no matted how small you think this item might be just from looking at the picture, don’t be surprised when you receive it if you find it’s smaller than you imagined. Nevertheless, it’s a good size for individual leftovers, and smaller food items. Recommend. ... show more

  • Simax Round Mini/Personal (8.5 Ounce) Glass Casserole Baking Dish With Lid - Borosilicate Glass
Many years ago I bought one of this same model and size. Decided to add one more of this model for my personal needs. Simax's glass roasters with the drip-drop style lids are another favorite of mine. This smaller personal dish is great for cooking & serving smaller portions, especially for people no longer share many meals with others, however if you do need to share there is always larger models (or buy another of the Mini/Personal model like I just did)! Soda-Lime glassware IS CHEAPER TO MANUFACTURE, Soda-Lime glassware only shines in regards to the falling and breaking aspect! I would rather the cookware not SHATTER due to thermal differences than worry about it falling and breaking (my experience is that there really is not that much difference between Borosilicate and Soda-Lime glassware when it comes to falling and breaking)! Borosilicate glass has better thermal shock characteristics than Soda-Lime, you can literally go from the freezer to the oven without problems (see Consumer Report's "Glass bakeware that shatters (December 2010) | Consumer Reports")! I have many of the OLDER Borosilicate Pyrex (before Pyrex changed to Soda-Lime), some Pyrex from France (which is Borosilicate), the rest of my glass cookware is Simax! EXCELLENT PRODUCT, with but one feature request, for Simax to add a layer of food grade silicone rubber to the bottoms of handles and the bottom of the dish! ... show more

  • Beautiful.
There are less expensive ones made in China but I don’t trust the purity of the glass. This one is made in Cezkslavakia. (sp?). I only use mine to store small amounts of left overs in my frig. I am willing to pay the price for quality that I trust. The size is for small individual serving. I plan to buy another one in the near future. ... show more

  • Tiny
I was looking for a mid-size glass dish with a lid. Package dimensions misled me. I thought it is the item dimension. Disappointed when I received it. It is way too small. I would like to return it, but do not know how to in these covid days... I do not have a printer to print the label. I cannot request one either. This practically means "DO NOT RETURN THE ITEM". ... show more

  • Tiny but mity
This is premium glass! Smaller than I thought it would be. Fits in the palm of my hand. But it is just the right size to cook a serving of veggies for two in the microwave. The lid fits snugly so steam does not escape. Here's a tip. Set the lid on so the handles are not in too of each other. Much easier to remove that way! Overall a fine little dish, but I do think it is overpriced for it's size! ... show more
