Love these pillowcases and sheets that I bought together from Silvon. Quality and comfort is amazing, and I love knowing im sleeping on something that is self-cleaning to an extent and can keep my skin cleaner than with regular sheets. BUT, there's a catch. Silvon loves advertising that their products are woven with antimicrobial silver, but they have no metrics anywhere before purchasing, explaining what the total percentages of the fabric is made of actual silver are, compared to the percentages of the fabric being made of cotton. I was curious of this previous to buying, but I bought anyway. I checked the tag inside of the pillowcase and it states that 93% of the total fabric is comprised of the cotton. Doesn't say the pertentage being the actual silver so I would imagine the last 7% of the total fabric is silver. So 7% of the fabric has antimicrobial properties and the rest of the 93% is just plain ole', albeit high quality cotton. I was hoping it would be like 50% cotton 50% silver or something so that the silver would have a larger area of effect, but im hoping that the 7% gets the job done. Washing sheets each week always keeps things clean no matter what though. I'd still recommend Silvon, but its a shame that there's only a measly 7% of the actual silver woven into the fabric when that's the main thrust of the marketing of this product. ... show more

If you experience waking up to acne where your face makes contact with your pillow, you NEED this pillowcase. As I’ve gotten older, my face has become more sensitive. Even with washing my bedding weekly with laundry sanitizer, washing face and brushing teeth before bed, I was waking up with tiny pimples and redness along my cheekbone (I’m a side sleeper). The redness looked like someone hit me in the face. It became slightly better when I started changing my pillowcase every day or every other day, but that’s a pain and who needs more laundry? Not me. After reading about someone else having the same problem, several people suggested an antibacterial pillowcase. Although skeptical, I thought why not try and purchased this pillowcase. Wow! This immediately made a huge difference. After the first night using the pillowcase I woke up with one teeny tiny pimple and no redness. The second night to currently, no pimples and no redness. This works! Comfort really wasn’t my first concern but the fabric is soft and cooling, so that’s a bonus. Anyone that struggles with skin issues must try these. Update two months later (Jan 2020): I’ve had these white pillowcases for a few years, back from when I purchased them in 2016 as a backer of the original project. It looks like the bleeding is due to my face oils. Just my guess tho. The grey case shows a similar effect. However the grey color hides the bleeding effect much better (only looks slightly darker in affected areas). The towels are just as good as ever. **** I purchased my third Silvon pillowcase after being an original backer. The covers feel great to sleep on and I’m confident they’re effective at combatting bacteria that comes in contact with my skin because their towels are so effective. So I’m basing my review of the pillow cases on the towels since they are fantastic at combatting bacteria and the odor left behind on a used towel. I will admit though that the White pillow cases have begun to show a smudging effect of the pinstripe lines. I have not figured out yet if it’s the silver, but it’s only noticeable when I stare at it under bright light. I just ordered the silver case and will see if something similar happens to this one. Face it. We don't clean our pillowcases as often as we should. Why go through the effort of cleaning your face and adopting the perfect skincare routine before bed if you're just going to lie down on a bunch of oils and bacteria accumulated from your hair, sweat and drool immediately after? Gross. One option is to swap out your pillowcase every few days. This means having a lot of extras on hand. I tried this, and it worked, somewhat. But a bunch of pillowcases are expensive. And you'll probably end up with some "microfiber" pillowcases that claim to 1800 thread count but actually feel artificial and disgusting. That's where Silvon comes in. One pillowcase that stays fresh and clean. Seriously. No odor. And I know that it's great for my skin. Sometimes I forget and fall asleep on a decorative or throw pillow. Always a pimple the next day. Not with Silvon. It really works. I still swap em out, but usually only once every 2 weeks when I do the rest of my laundry. It helps to have a second pair on hand. I wish you could buy a 2 or a 4 pack on Amazon. And there really should be more of a discount when you do. That's my only complaint. The material on these feels super high quality. Better even than my Brooklinen bed sheets. Also better a super expensive silk pillowcase I bought here on Amazon. I thought the silk would be good for my skin but it got dirty and smelly really quickly and fell apart after one wash. Dozens and dozens of washes later, my Silvon pillowcases look and feel brand new. These are also super handy when traveling. I always bring a Silvon pillowcase with me when I'm going to crash at a friend's place. It's never worth the risk with whatever old sheets and pillowcases they have lying around. It's also great for hotels and camping. The stress of traveling can be enough to cause a breakout, so I recommend you do everything you can to keep your face as clean as possible. Thanks Silvon! Really do want to try their complete sheet set next. They're pricey but probably worth it? I can totally see their sheets helping to reduce back acne and just generally staying cleaner and fresher for longer, just like their pillowcases. ... show more
